Not sure what knobblauch was thinking with the defence. If he wants to mix up the top 6 go for it but messing with the defense was very noticeable. I hope he realizes this unnecessary change and switches back.
I think its the ideal time to try some new wrinkles. If you don't do it now you don't know what works, what doesn't. It was a good game to pull that. you don't get many chances in the league to take peeks at other stuff and see what works. Keeping in mind of course Knob never had a TC with thsi club and had to learn on the fly. he's experimenting and probably should. You want to see as many different looks as possible just to see what other options are to be had sometime you might need to change it up.

I don’t mind him experimenting with swapping Ceci/VD, but I really don’t understand the Ekholm/Ceci decision. Least he changed it back instead of being stubborn.

😂

Perry has that grease factor we haven't quite seen to this degree since Smyth and I love him for it.

I remember watching that game on TV and laughing my ass off. Went from a super tense game to a laugher by the end. That one and the Coyotes game where I think Pronger scored to tie it (win it?) right at the buzzer after Gretzky called a time out that ended up benefitting us, lol. Those two road games stick out to me from that season.

Sigh. I miss Pronger.

Sometimes you have to cheat to be good. This has been seriously lacking in our lineup. But man for a guy out for a long time Perry is really feeling the puck. Sexy one touches and usually gets them to good spots. Guy still has it offensively. He's creating and supporting.

I think others mentioned it. The org is trying to see if Ceci fits anywhere, with anybody before deciding we need another D at TDL. If we just stay static with pairs we don't see what we have. AGain Knoblauch and Coffey did not have a TC with thsi club. Its these kinds of wrinkles you try now, because you didn't have any chance to try permutations in preseason when they often occur. I'm OK with the experiments. But tomorrow need to go back to some familiar pairs. Probably a one off because its Anaheim.

I like the 2nd line so I'd keep them how they're. Leon played better as well. I think that line needs more games to see what we have.

I'd play Gagner tho over either Brown or Janmark. Give the man some games.

I didn't mind how Knob switched the defensive pairing in the 3rd. Plus I thought Desharnais was the best defenseman tonight.

Picks was decent too. He had to make quite a few complicated saves and kept the Oil in it.

Nurse Desharnais
Ekholm Bouchard
Kulak Ceci
