Ceci needs to be replaced.
Don't get me wrong, I like the guy. He's not bad but he's just not good either. For this team to be deeper on defense and potentially go deeper in the playoffs for a cup run, this team can't afford to have Ceci on the top four D.

Anyways, let's start a new W streak friday.

I'm not upset about the streak ending. I'm upset about Vegas ending it. Bleh.

We won some we should have lost on this run and finishing it with a loss that should have been a W is fine.

It would have been nice to get the streak but it’s not the end of the season. I won’t miss the pressure of the streak run and don’t think the players will either. Everyone can go back to focusing on playing the system, and improving our play going to the playoffs.
The team can be proud of what it has achieved in terms of wins and standings…and we’re not finished yet!

Cause I believe the team deserves a little benefit of the doubt after rattling off the last 30 games they have. But look at you bums acting like they’re doomed.

I don't think anyone thinks they are doomed, just concerned with how we match up with Vegas and how we will very likely face them in the 1st round in the playoffs.

Hella run.

Benchmark game. Oil played a great game and ran into Cup level team defense. Bodies and sticks consistently clogging the home plate area in front of a dialled in goaltender. The Oil went toe for toe with the Cup champion. Unfortunately Oil coverage broke first for the only break needed to win a tight playoff primer hockey game. Really only felt McDavid left it all on the ice offensively though the team defended really well. Left too many good shot attempts die on the vine with overhanding or needless wide circles around the net and out of harm's way instead of straight line attacking the net.

Have to reset and start again with one.

yup, angry instead of happy for the streak happening, I really think some people expect the team to go 82-0 or else they deem it unacceptable.
The streak was awesome, my kids loved it. But everyone and their dog knew they needed to win this game, against their biggest rival. It honestly just a shitty loss, any other team other then Colorado I probably am disappointed but not pissed.

Now that the win streak is over we can talk about this teams problems. The concerning one for me is how anemic our offence has become. We’ve got a lot of forwards that can’t score right now. Not sure how that gets fixed but if we’re able to add something at the deadline that’s the area that needs to be addressed.

Vegas celebrated like they won the cup. Hopefully the team actually uses that shit, because that has to hurt.

McDavid looked pissed, he knows their game doesn’t work against Vegas.
Streak beating or not. That celebration was ridiculous. Vegas are one of the better teams in the league. That wasn’t a good look. I hope the team uses that as “f*** you” fuel

I've discovered some new skate prototypes that may help Drai on nights like this. :D

Hope the team gets over that one quick. Total repeat of playoffs. We choked loads of good chances. Refused to hit open net, just tossing wide over and over. Put the rest along the ice direct into Hill. Then our brain farts in our zone easily convert into goals against.

Start another run boys.

Hope this loss gives them what they need to learn to be better against Vegas and Hill. This is almost guaranteed as a first round matchup and I would bet on Vegas at this point. This team has the potential to beat them in a series but they refuse to play how they need to to handle how Vegas D and Hills goaltending work together. It’s a lesson they have to learn or it’s a first round out. They can do it, they just have to figure out how.
