It's not just NHL.com a lot of sites have it listed as the 15th.
Vesey can't sign a contract with the other 29 teams until 12:01am August 16th

Would be hard to understand why considering the teams haven't been able to do their pitch.

When you read something like that, try to find some reasoning as to why and then you should soon come to a conclusion that an information like that is most likely bogus.

CBA specifically says the drafting team has his rights up to and including August 15th

Vesey will meet with teams starting on Tuesday, but is not expected to come up with a decision until Thursday or Friday as a lot will go into choosing where he ultimately signs his contract.

Boston is still the likeliest destination
Thereafter the New York (Rangers likeliest) area or Chicago

I guess you didn't read any post below number 80!
I was originally going to put the 16th but I knew all the web sites had listed as the 15th.

Guess I should have gone with my first instinct. Because now I'm being called stupid now that I'm second guessing myself and going along with what all the websites have written down even though I know Vesey isn't allowed to sign with the 29 other teams until 12:01am August 16th..

This guy has attained so much attention and I don't feel like he's a large impact player. Iguess we'll see but I can't see more than a 2nd-3rd lind tweener. which is great to get for free but still i feel v overhyped

We shall soon see where Vesey goes. I predict some minor whining from fanbases. I'm still amazed that Poile got a 3rd for a player that wasn't even going to sign with them - no strings attached, and no conditions.

Free assets are free assets. Even if he tops out as a 3rd liner, those guys are usually good for 35 points. A solid get for whichever team he signs with.
