Recalled/Assigned: All-Encompassing Call-ups Thread (4/29: Thomas, 9 others recalled to NYR)

Good, now we can save him from accruing an NHL season for free agency purposes.

Oh wait.

Another blunder by our management lol.

They might not think much of him in 6-7 yrs then? They just gave away RFA eligibility for nothing.

Dont like the way he's been handled, for otherwise a team that had done well placing rookies in the lineup (Staal, Dubinsky, Callahan, Hagelin, Girardi) except Anisimov)

Who would you have played on the 3rd line?

Let's not just call this a wasted season. He looked passable as a NHLer this year. There are things he needs to work on. He knows what those are and he knows what a NHL game looks like at real speed. That's a plus.

I think that could have been accomplished in 5 games.

I think after the 5 game mark Ferriero could have done everything Miller did.

Ferriero was hurt.
He wouldn't have been hurt if he stayed with the team.

Point remains, I don't think Miller did anything beyond that point that most AHLers can't. Certainly not enough to warrant the consequences with his contracting rights.

I agree that he should not have stayed. I said so even after he stayed past 5 games, but no one can make it out to seem like this was a wasted year of development for him. It was not. And I am not saying you, -31-, did that.

I hate it when it turns out the person I've been arguing with has the exact same stance as me.

In place of Boyle I suppose for the 2nd or 3rd line. This is his chance to play in the playoffs again if we make it. I can see Kreider flourishing when Torts gets canned as well, we will see. Hoping for the best.

Uh oh...

I really feel for Kreider. He should've spent the whole year down in Hartford. Being called up and sent down over and over can't be easy on him. Hopefully he isn't taking it personally.

I'll get this in now before it spirals:

Don't discuss Torts/Slats' use of Kreider here. There are discussion threads for that. This thread is mainly for informative posts via sources.

Does not bode well for Boyle. As much as I have been disappointed with his play this season, we need him on the PK. Someone other than Stepan has to be able to take a faceoff on the PK, and neither Brassard and Richards are good options on the PK.

MAKE A DECISION AND STICK WITH IT before this guy gets tired of us.

YES please let the guy play! Real minutes with a real number 1 or 2 center. I don't know how much more of this one/two goal per game crap we have to see. Its NOT working. If we make the playoffs and play a team like montreal or pitt and score one goal a game whats the point? we will lose pathetically in 4/5 games.
Not saying he is gonna dramatically change this offense, but what we have and what we have been doing isn't working (i.e. dump and chase, richards, boyle on PP, etc)
