I have nothing against Enforcers but Bickel doesn't exactly fall in the class of a heavyweight enforcer. He can't hang with Orr or any other heavyweight.

I also hate a guy who contributed nothing else to a team except fighting. If Bickel was going to drop them with other heavyweights I would be fine with him, the same way I was fine with Boogaard and Rupp, despite their offensive deficiencies. But he won't. He fights Campbell, Crombeen and Ryan Carter.

He's a middleweight with heavyweight skills. Worthless.
 
Wouldn't be upset if Haley drops the mitts to try and set the tone at the start of the game, but other than that, unless he's sticking up for a guy I'd rather see him skate with a lot of energy, hit everything he can, and get under the other teams skin. That's what'll make him valuable to us as a player.

I would love to just smack the announcer in the face.. oh my god. "When's enough enough?!"... dude, it's a blowout...

And then "Gillies has no redeeming value" is just low... how does this have anything to do with the fight? And since when does an announcer have a right to call a team "an embarrassment to the NHL" on the air?!
 
Haley played well in Hartford in the recent couple of weeks. Great job carrying the puck. Looked like Gomez in his good times, though obviously against AHL opposition, so don't expect the same in the NHL.

If he can bring any semblance of that to our bottom six against other fourth liners it'll be good.

How is he speed wise? Will he be able to hang with Powe and Halpern?

Everyone is equal, Penguins a bit more than others.

we have gilroy, eminger, and bickel and only 1 defenseman out(if in fact staal is out). we haven't had a 6d rotation in a long time, i don't see mcilrath being called up to play 5 minutes. it'll probably just be like it was tonight with mdz,girardi, mcd, and staal carrying the weight and the bottom pairing playing 5-10 minutes
 
Love the way Haley goaded Hartnell into 10 minute misconduct and Bickel nailed him in that ugly mug....
 
Haley touching Hartnell's helmet as he went into the bench probably shouldn't have happened, but ill take anything that takes Hartsy out of the game

Haley reminds me of the early Avery with the Red Wings. I hope he stays the rest of the year... Bickel has no use on this roster unless it is practice only as an extra player
 
Haley can take a regular shift and should be used as long as he doesn't take stupid penalties (Bickel last two games )
 
When everyone is healthy, a 4th line of Haley-Halpern-Powe seems like it would work quite well.

Thought Haley did a solid, if unspectacular, job.

that would certainly be a good 4th line. Haley is actually a good hockey player, not just a fighter and he's a tremendous forechecker, his skills are also underrated. IMO he's prust 2.0 but a hell of a lot cheaper
 
I've been a fan of Haley ever since that Isles Pens game. Hopefully he stays with the big club adding some much needed sandpaper to the lineup.

i dunno if he is like Prust.. he doesnt PK i dont think and is a center... something about him reminds me of a younger Avery
