It is.Looks like a rebranded AEW Dark
And, honestly, it should be.
Use ROH like WWE used to use NXT.
I mean, keep a guy like Claudio there as champ, but yeah do it like old NXTExactly. I essentially said this quite a while back, but not sure what the roster is like anymore as I haven't watched much past highlights in a while.
It is heavier at the top, which they have to do because they’re trying to get more traction for the brand, but that show also has 19 matches on it and I bet the vast majority of them are short which is what they were doing on Dark.Saying ROH is a rebranded AEW Dark seems somewhat disrespectful to how good it typically is. Like he ran a massive card this week but ROH has been really good consistently, the biggest issue with the show is having checked out crowds a lot of the time.
That show did. That isn't a typical weekly ROH card.It is heavier at the top, which they have to do because they’re trying to get more traction for the brand, but that show also has 19 matches on it and I bet the vast majority of them are short which is what they were doing on Dark.
But they also only just killed Dark, so it probably is going forward. That show did. That isn't a typical weekly ROH card.
Or he put together a bigger card for the week before the PPV. We will see.But they also only just killed Dark, so it probably is going forward.
I got my ticket as a sudden impulse buy. I don't know anything about NJPW. Thinking about selling but I'll wait until the card is announced. He hasn't been on TV much lately. Unsure if there is a specific reason or they didn't think he was needed. If there was someone(s) in NJPW that Sting wanted to wrestle/fight and they were interested maybe there could be a tag match (or trios/eight man) at Forbidden Door. I wouldn't have purchased a ticket expecting to see Sting or really any specific wrestler because it's one of those wildcard events that you never know who will and won't wrestle. The weeks between DoN and FB were crazy last year because you never know who would appear and what direction the FB card was going to go. I'm hoping for the same excitement this year.
Rush absolutely seemed to go out of his way to make himself look better than Jungle BoyHe hasn't been on TV much lately. Unsure if there is a specific reason or they didn't think he was needed. Since I'm typing a message anyways, did anyone find the Jungle Boy vs Rush match on the May 17 Dynamite odd? Sometimes I zip through the pre-commercial break portion of the matches and I didn't think too much of the match until a friend mentioned it the other day so I watched t again. His thought was Rush was no-selling and looked too strong against someone who is in the main event of a PPV in two weeks. Early JB is thrown outside then when Rush goes outside it appears JB throws a couple strikes and Rush ignores them then proceeds to ragdoll him into the barricades all the way around the ring. Later in the match there is a clothesline from JB, some type of rolling or jumping one and Rush doesn't flinch although at this point the beat down of JB is severe enough that maybe the commentators were correct to say JB was too weak and JB/Rush were both expecting the clothesline to do nothing. Shortly after that there are a couple strikes from JB and again no reaction from Rush. Eventually JB wins on the roll up with the tights. (turning at DoN?) I don't know if Rush went into business for himself like my friend thinks but in the context of JB headlining a PPV in two weeks it was odd for JB to look so weak and/or Rush look so strong.
