Domestic ticket sales have not been great for AEW all year so I'm not that surprised. It's disappointing to see though.

They need to make their tickets cheaper. Plain and simple.

They also need to do a better job of advertising off network. If they do those things they'll have an easier time moving tickets.

That too.

But also cheaper tickets.

I might be talking out of my ass here, but I feel like a lot of AEW's identity was having a rabid, passionate fanbase ready to watch some amazing wrasslin. Obviously their crowds are still very good for the most part, but I feel like cheaper tickets enhances that especially since you give people from many different levels of income a chance to come to their show and have the time of their life.

And it'd be a great way to grow the product in certain markets. AEW isn't as popular as WWE yet. Less expensive tickets would be a good way to get more people in the doors. Not everyone can afford $400 for floor tickets. Nor are they worth it at most wrestling shows. But $200?

I think it honestly more an issue of Grand Slam just not being as big of a deal as it was 3 years ago. It is put square in the middle of All In, All Out, and Wrestle Dream all within like 5 weeks....along with Tony's need to keep certain shows in the same markets and dates every year. Naturally certain shows are going to have a hard time selling. Omega-Danielson will never be on a Dynamite card again...even Grand Slam lol
Agree with this. You need to leave a little breathing room for AEW big shows. And for New Yorkers also for the recently completed US Open. If they moved the date to October after WrestleDream, i think they get better ticket sales. I would of scheduled the date on NY Comic Con weekend.

Does Mox have a “busted open” clause in his contract or something that stipulates he must bleed in every match he performs in? Maybe a bonus or something for every blade job?

It sort of loses its luster after the 68th time since the beginning of the year. Is it maybe a running joke at this point?

This is not good news. o_O

Meltzer is reporting that AEW is having major trouble selling tickets to the upcoming Grand Slam show at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York on September 20th. According to Meltzer:

Arthur Ashe I was a 20,000+ sellout
Arthur Ashe II last year sold 13,321
Arthur Ashe III next week has so far sold 6,284. Right now they're now doing a " buy 1 get 1 free " promotion to try and boost the numbers.

Meltzer is also saying that these bad attendance numbers are a result of falling TV ratings. :dunno:
It being a weekday I think is a problem, especially with it not being as much of a novelty anymore.

WWE will always be more engrained in pop culture than them. The amount of AEW fans is less than 1 million.

  • Haha
Reactions: DaaaaB's
So are the Outcasts still a group, because Toni Storm is using their entrance? What’s going on here?
