Excellent episode. Every match and promo was good or great. The ending was predictable but still a good match. I don't understand why The Elite act like babyfaces but are accompanied by Don Callis who's a heel thru and thru. Cutler is pretty much unlikeable too.

This crowd has been fire all night, I don’t know how anyone understanding the basics of pro wrestling could interpret that as ‘wrong.’
Do you understand the basics?

Every AEW crowd is fire. Indie fans are happy to be outside. I was in Toronto where people marked out for a Orange Cassidy putting his hands in his pockets, it's like NXT crowds. They cheer everything.

If you can't answer the question, that's ok.

I'll put it this way, does Bret Hart suck in the ring? I mean he's slow right.

Hahahah, what does Bret have to do with anything? Bret was an incredible technician in the ring and as good as he was, he was even better at selling and making everything his opponent did look legit.

MJF is a great promo, and I think he’s passable in the ring. If he wasn’t good on the stick, he wouldn’t leave an impact on anyone. I don’t think he’s bad in the ring, I also don’t think he’s close to Danielson level.

I know it's not directed at me but I want to answer your two questions at the end of your post. No and no.

I thought everything about tonight's show was top notch, far more entertaining than anything I've seen on mondays...I don't watch Fridays bc I have a life and don't stay home

I also loved Bret...those are 2 different eras of wrestling...times change...and if can't appreciate it...might be time to find something else to entertain you

Life's too short to be pissy and unhappy

The basics of wrestling is having your the audience invested in the product so that they want to spend more money on it. It doesn’t matter how you get there as long as you do (and people don’t get themselves killed which happened a lot more soon after that than it does now). Many different wrestlers do many different things, but when Bret Hart got to the top, he had people telling him what he did was actually not good by people who got pushed out of the business because they couldn’t make money, while the promotion Bret Hart worked for bought them all out for peanuts.

People got themselves worked about Mercedes.

Everyone did everything they could to tell you she was not coming, and people still mad about it.

Yeah, I thought she’d potentially be there but also came to the reality of the fact that the way she’s presented, she shouldn’t be a “partner”

If she’s indeed coming, I wouldn’t expect her to be tossed into a random tag match.

I do think they should have just openly said it was Toni/Saraya vs Britt/Hayter from the start. There was absolutely no need for the “mystery partner” angle, especially if that was the main outcome anyway.

When they did that, I believe it was before people knew she was out that soon and was going to be in Japan (even though I don’t know how many times I saw something that some site thought was a sign she was showing up). But they still likely rewrote what was planned because people thought it anyways.

Same people that are gonna complain when ‘plans change.’

Once they gave people a surprise Adam Cole, that made me go from not expecting it to being completely shocked if they did.

I think the only foul was the Britt Boss reference and wink. She likes to go off script to pop the internet when she can, but that shit was pre-taped, shoot it again or cut that line out. Paige talking about making good use of her two plane tickets today wasn't the best idea either.

But yeah by and large people worked themselves in believing she would show up because frankly a mystery tag spot is beneath her.

Tony almost assuredly gave Dave the scoop last week that she wasn't going to be there to try and throw cold water on it, but folks wanted to believe rumor mongers with really bad track records

So far I have only made it to the conclusion of the women's match...JungleHOOK is dumb. WardJoe. JungleHOOK. WTF man. Just because you look 12 and sound 12 doesn't mean you need to create names for pairings like a 12 year old. lol. I don't know what Danielson was trying to do from the apron however I don't think it went according to plan and looked sketchy for both of them. Other than those minor qualms it has been a quality episode of Dynamite.

Only other note from the women's match is they really need to turn Paige. Crowds are not interested in cheering her at all
I agree 100% with this. Saraya doesn’t do much for me, honestly. I find her style sluggish and slow. I can’t explain it. I feel like she’s damaged goods at this point. I don’t expect her to take impactful offense at this stage anymore.

You add in her saying “THIS IS MY HOUSE!” on loop and it’s instant Bleh for me. She must have said that 3-4 times during tonight’s match.

I just think others have passed her by.

I think that’s perfectly plausible to tease if they later get her for the PPV. Tony started the company intending to build it around CM Punk and that took almost 3 years to get him in the door.

That’s like, remember when Shawn Michaels was doing the program with Hogan, and Bret Hart was doing the DVD with WWE around the same time. And then they do the deep fake in Montreal, then he’s going around the sharpshooter. Everybody thought Bret was showing up, or almost everybody. as if Hogan would let that happen.

The ceiling went up further while she was gone. It’s too high for her to reach without some dramatic change that she’s yet to show, and isn’t really doing anything that’s pointing in a direction for her.

11/10 dynamite. Wow. Worst match of the night was Hangman v Mox ... and that was a good match at worst. Main event was lit and while I'm happy to see Elite win, I kind of wish they had lost only because I want Omega in singles comp. But.... wow, great show.

I am happy that the best of 7 is finally done though
