That AEW Castle entrance is my favorite thing in wrestling now though. When he goes to the outside and The Boys start to fan him >>>

It was quite a spectacle, I must agree. What's even better is that the guy can work a hell of a match, and he's usually booked as a serious competitor. It would almost be like if Santino was ever allowed to win big matches clean. Castle's walk to the ring draws you in and demands your attention, and then the ring work is a rather nice surprise.

wonder if one if these dudes will want in in the club, specifically Dante Martin. He should be higher than this.
 
I just don't see how announcing a streaming deal, while it would be a big thing, is something Tony Khan promotes and makes an announcement of live on TV. Is that something that's going to draw a buzz in the arena? When you get it in place you just announce it, sort of like when you have upcoming dates.

Was the crowd just chanting "This is awful!" During the Kyle O'Reilly and Jungle Boy match? The attendance looks good sized but absolutely dead.
 
Somebody besides me has to be getting bored of MJF just doing the same shit over and over again.

I didn't watch tonight but is this NJPW thing worthy of a TV announcement? I felt the same about the ROH announcement.
 
I thought the finished the coffin match was really poorly done. And now next week they have yet another ladder match? I think it’ll be fantastic, but as with other things I think they’re going to that well too often.

They indeed do way too many gimmick matches. Many of which do not really have a build.

I guess the coffin match and the ladder match both had a build, but often, they just do shit because they can. Reminds me of participating in efeds in the early 00s, every match on the card was a gimmick match :laugh:

Tony is about my age, so maybe he has the same memories, who knows lol

I think it's fairly huge, particularly if the idea is to get a little bit of cross promotion build going with top stars of each company. At the very least, it progresses the relationship between AEW and NJPW. I know AEW has had a few NJPW guys on already, and vice versa, but a ppv that specifically calls for cross promotion matches is exciting for me. There are still a ton of NJPW guys that haven't had good exposure over here, but deserve it 100x over
 
With Sammy and Scorpio, it seems like they’re redoing what they were doing when they redid Sammy and Cody since this time the crowd forced a turn. It is heel vs. heel, but they were definitely doing a face promo, including Dan Lambert. It feels like Scorpio should win it back, but I don’t think they’re going to stay face after the feud. They made you think Kazarian and Scorpio is the match you want to see, but they’re gonna do a ladder match and mixed tag.
 
What are some crossover matches people are looking forward to? There's alot of options

Okada vs Danielson would be amazing
Mox vs Tanahashi seems likely

Will Omega be back?

Ibushi. Tanahashi. Ospreay. ZSJ. Okada. KENTA. Naito. Shibata. Jay White. Dirty Daddy

You could run these guys against most of the AEW roster and the match will succeed. The crowd will likely put the show over before anybody even locks up.

Then take guys like Omega. Mox. Danielson. Cole. Jericho. Kingston. Yuta. Garcia.

Provided NJPW loans out the right guys, there's no way this show isn't loaded top to bottom with only main event quality contests.
 
I imagine with it being over 2 months away in Chicago and at the much bigger United Center, that Kenny "by God" Omega will most certainly be back for that event. I enjoy the idea of the "Forbidden Door" and can see why this is a really big deal for some folks. I am about a 7 out of 10 with it as I want to see AEW continue to drive their own stable of wrestlers home first. So many still need major pushes or have been off tv for a bit, but the matches will be excellent and hopefully it doesn't clutter up Dynamite and Rampage with folks working elsewhere each and every week.
 
We'll see if we get one on one matchups or if it's more faction vs faction just to squeeze everybody onto the card.

Don’t think that’s a given that Kenny is there.
 
Went to the show last night in Pittsburgh. Amazing atmosphere. Took someone who doesn't watch wrestling and he loved it. The fans going crazy and flipping off MJF during the entire Wardlow match. If you haven't gone to a live show do it.

Only disappointment was the announcement. Need a readily available streaming service. B/R isn't available on most platforms and smart TVs.
