Who said he was a throw in? You need a package that will entice Colorado to take a deal that doesn't involved McAvoy or Carlo. We have a ton of forward prospects and Donato's Beanpot might have caught Sakic's eye.

I think Bruins should produce their own wingers That's why they drafted them. They cannot afford to part with defenceman that are 20 and playing 20 mins per nite in NHL..When Carlo fills out and gains more weight and muscle they will regret it again.I do not know if Carlo straight up be worth it.Think 3 or 4 years down the road .

So Boston should develop their own wingers and not trade a d-man...So the only thing available for us to trade are centers?

Listen I'm all for keeping Carlo and seeing what Cehlarik can do with Krejci.

I would try to sub out Gabrielle for JFK and Zboril for Lauzon.

Not sure I see the Avs wanting to take on Beleskey's salary as tight as they are to the Cap?

Maybe he goes in a separate deal?

I would too, but I already subbed in Lauzon for Carlo so I figured I had better max out the value of the other guys.

I would think COL expects to take back a cap dump... Beleskey might be wishful thinking but they are saving almost $2m on this deal. Also, Iginla's $5.3 comes off the books next year, and the only significant raise they have this summer is Zadorov. Plus, you would think that they're going to have a very young/cheap lineup with these 3 kids and Patrick/Hischier.

The kid is 20 yrs old and already playing regular in NHL .He has size and reach and will only get better. And he will gain weight and add more muscle too.Far as wingers the Bruins do not even know yet what they have.Give it a chance,Not like true Cup contenders this year.Just my take .

You realize that I'm all for keeping Carlo and not trading for Landeskog right? I'm in that group that hates trading prospects because I feel like anyone could be a superstar, even though that's not realistic.

Yes sir I do.I just want to see what Bruins actually have here.My gut tells me Donato going to be a good player for them. There seems to be this consences that's because Bergeron and Krecji are in 30s now that the Bruins need to be all in to win now.I dunno if that's a smart way to build a team.Sweeney needs trades that he clearly wins ,not gambles.cannot afford any more mistakes.

That might be the case, I just think our team is loaded with prospects......go grab yourself a sure thing in Landeskog and go from there.

If Boston acquired Vesey in the off-season, I really feel like that would've started a domino effect with Sweeney......perhaps this does the same.

Just got said in the other thread on expansion, obviously should be talked about here. At some point, Sweeney is trading for a forward. We have 6 truly viable forwards they have to protect going into expansion. Our exempt list is totally delicious and a huge benefit.

So since we're one of the rare teams that's got that clear 7th slot wide open, we're going to be in the mix to trade for someone worth protecting. You don't waste that opportunity while teams are looking to trade out of having 7-8-9 guys in that spot. I also think it's that dynamic that could keep Sweeney from trading with Sakic. He knows there's going to be other teams needing help to get to 7, and he's got the exempt list to trade from to do it.

If the Avs are moving a 24 year old while saying they want "to get younger", why would they ever take Beleskey (age 28) back?

Seems to me this is why this trade isn't going to happen. We can't afford Landeskog without shedding salary, but all of the contracts we'd want them to take back are expensive and for older players.

Seems to me we're stuck with Beleskey, another awful Bruins contract.

Getting paid $4,000,000 until 2019, and 7 pts this year?

Marchand - Bergeron - Landeskog (Holy crap, they'd shutdown life)
Cehlairk - Krejci - Pastrnak
Spooner - Backes - Vatrano
Schaller - Moore - Blidh

I'm done with Nash.

Hey I have been wrong lots.Love hearing everyones take. You could very well be right .I think Sweeeney is a bit gun shy now and will not let anyone rip him off anymore..So next deal Buins make I expect it to look good..:crossfing:crossfing:crossfing:crossfing:

This a great looking forward lineup- Nash, I can take or leave. I recognize that he is a tremendous penalty killer and he does bring maximum effort every shift, so might be worth keeping for those reasons. At the same time, Blidh, Acciari, or another PBruin who needs some NHL time for their development would not bother me in the least.

I dunno if anyone has ripped him off..sure he's lost some trades, but won some as well. (Every GM can relate)

The way I see this, if you unload Belesky or Hayes, cap space is just as good as acquiring another player.

I really feel like, if Boston is giving up legit prospects, Colorado might pay some of Landeskogs salary to bring it down.

Marsh - Bergeron - Landeskog
Cehlarik - Krejci - Pastrnak
Spooner - Backes - Vatrano
Schaller - Moore - Nash

I'd keep Backes on the top line:

Marchand - Bergeron - Backes
Cehlarik - Krejci - Pastrnak
Vatrano - Spooner - Landeskog
Schaller - Moore - Nash

is Spooner - Backes - Vatrano really gonna do much. They're all individually good. Have they done much to give us reason to expect results as a line?

He better act soon if this is the guy he wants before others get in and drive the price higher. They probably already in though .lol

I think that's realistically a trade we could all live with. Curious, do you value Lauzon higher than Zboril at this point? Towards GloryDaze's suggestion, I would have thought switching from Lauzon to Zboril would offset downgrading from JFK to Gabrielle, but obviously not if Lauzon is viewed higher now.

Ultimately, if we're adding Landeskog without giving up Carlo, I don't think any forward prospect should be off the table. With the entire top 6 signed long-term, there really just aren't enough slots available, and while it would hurt to lose JFK (who some are dubbing Bergeron's future replacement), we have 6+ years to find another and plenty of other prospects to make it work in the meantime.

I'd much rather see Vatrano - Spooner - Cehlarik personally. We've already seen some of what Cehlarik is capable of when forced to skate hard to keep up with Pastrnak, so those two would probably bring the best out of him. Not to mention, Vatrano would probably have a field day with both Spooner and Cehlarik feeding him.

Agree. Ride the top two lines and play the Spooner and Moore lines about evenly at even strength.
