Trade Deadline Central on nhl.com really getting frustrated. Stories by retired players on their reactions when they were traded, interviews with recently traded players, Red Kelly story, choosing a new number when traded, etc.

I muted it at the Kelly story, went to let my dog out when Subban got on

I'd be upset about the entire situation and think Duchene has been playing his way off the team while Landeskog has been doing everything possible to prove he cares.

That's just from watching the Flyer and Sabres games though where Landeskog was the best Avalanche player and Duchene was going through the motions.

After hearing that the Islander met the Av's requirements and then the Av's started to stall, I'm not surprised if they don't get traded. Feels like Sakic was trying to build a bidding war in hopes someone would over pay for either Duchene/Landeskog. When he didn't get it, he started to back off on trade talks with them.

Yes, after hearing about the NYI offer I wondered as well. Maybe Sakic is trying to use this throw-away season to scare the bijesus out of his stars and give them a feeling like they are not expendable. Maybe he sees some long term value in having them sweat out these rumors for the past 2 months. If they are indeed in rebuild, they are certainly of the right age right term to be part of the rebuild. But, still holding out hope for Lando in black and gold

Not much action and I don't expect B's to do anything in last hour. Still, it's one of my favorite days of year.

If B's don't do anything, kudos to Sweeney for setting expectations low. Would rather a surprise than high expectations followed by "we were in on a lot, but nothing worked out".
