I watched Heinen play at Denver at least 15-20 times over the two years prior to his signing with the B's and I'm not sure I have seen a more complete forward in quite awhile. This kid sees the ice extremely well and can play in every situation. While he lacks Marchand's nastiness, I would not categorize him as being "soft" (a term you seem to throw around a lot), and I would say he's a helluva lot smarter than Marchand was at that age.

Cehlarik is the flavor of the month, but I think Heinen will be a better NHL player eventually. Kirk has him rated 1st on his list of B's pro level prospects, despite his struggles during his 7 game cameo with the B's.

If you (all not just Fenian) haven't listened to this podcast, you probably should. Kirk does a great job with the prospects and also with his commentary on the HF mentality

I think Cehlarik is too soft too :naughty:

Heinen appears to be a very good prospect. Hope he is not traded, but if he is I hope it is for established NHL talent on a good contract.

Loved the TSN highlights of Landeskog.

If you can't get someone like him or another top D with term, hold off.

Our board should be simple:

#NoRentals
#SpokedBLandeskog

So far I still haven't seen a trade I think the Bruins missed out on. All rentals or Hansen who probably wouldn't waive to come here.

Exactly how I feel and how they should as well. B's sweep in last minute to take Lando off their hands for what the B's want. Hoping of course.

Wouldn't be surprised if we pick him up today, decent player having a terrible year.

Is he still a decent player if he comes here and continues to have a terrible year?

If the price is very low cost... then maybe. Realistically, all he's replacing is Hayes.

I don't, but I think he needs to put up some points sooner than later to merit being on that line, just like anyone should at the NHL level playing with Krejci and Pastrnak.

Same as anyone playing with Bergeron and Marchand. After 10 games you should expect some results or they shift to third line duties.

I hate Hayes..but to me Vanek over Hayes isnt an improvement. Better player, but not what our 3rd line needs.

We need someone more responsible to help Vatrano/Spooner

I think the opposite Greek, I want someone who also brings speed and a quick release to finish those chances that Spooner was setting Hayes up for.

Basically another Vatrano.

Hence my interest in a buy low Yakupov option.

Depends what you are looking for. We have McQuaid and K.Miller, Gryzz I don't see ever being an NHL regular. If you want a tough player with a great shot McIlrath is it. Speed of the game hurts him but in limited minutes he may help. I have always liked him.

Grizz can skate so I value that higher. I think he could eventually play in a Krug type role.

I see Mcilrath as a bottom pairing D man with no more upside, basically. He'd be another Miller/McQuaid.

Which is fine......at least with Yakupov you still have untapped potential.

Vanek, we'd get extremely frustrated with IMO.

Same. If he sucks, Hayes or Beleskey is back in. If he produces you can explore qualifying him for next year. He's not a rental and he is sitting in the press box in St.Louis.

It's been 7 games, and he does have 2 assists, and should have had his first goal that was stupidly taken away

I actually don't mind Chelarik on that line, he's opening up space and creating some chances for Krecji and Pastrnak. I don't think he is a long term answer and don't want him on the third line.

If they manage to clinch a playoff spot early I wouldn't mind DeBrusk getting a look with Krecji and Pastrnak, brings a more physical game with decent speed and wil have had almost a full year in the AHL by then.

If TB retained salary on that contract, I wouldn't mind him as a 3C.

I believe Filp can play all 3 forward positions. It would be good to have him so he can rotate into any positions that need help. For example, he can slot in for Hayes right now but if Cehlarik fails to produce he can probably fill that LW slot.
