every year every one want that big trade ect ..... lets be realistic
why give up assets ? we have a lot of young prospects and teams playing well right now.

if the team was not playing well together and there needed to be a shake up , then go for it .

Does anyone really think one player makes us a stanley cup team this year ?
trade a small piece for somthing maybe but nothing major. we are currently winning and playing well as a team why wouyld you want to disturb that.

if you want a fairy tale trade there is nhl17

Been sayin it all year. This team isn't the Caps. They were in a perfect spot to trade for depth. The Shattenkirk trade makes sense. As far as the Bruins, any trade except selling, makes no sense. Waisting assets to get in a round? Dumb. Everyone complained about the trades Sweeney made last year, and yet people are throwing out dumb trade ideas again. Long term future trades aren't made at the TD, they are made in the offseason.

Any interest in Ryan Miller as a back-up option for the right price.

I wouldn't give up much of value, but he's UFA this summer.

And if Boston doesn't do anything else, they should be able to take on the remainder of his full cap hit. (i.e. Vancouver wouldn't have to retain).

Yeah I would take him at a the right price, but he already said he wants to stay on the west coast as his wife is an actress in LA and he gave 5 teams he would go to, LA already out with Bishop going there.

If Landeskog is coming - Carlo is going.
If Carlo is going - someone else has to be coming on D

That's the way I see it.
1 deal or 2 (2nd deal for the Dman)
But I just don't think there is any other way.

I for one would not complain about the loss of Carlo so long as a suitable replacement is obtained at the same time.

Just say no to rentals.

I wonder if we see any actual hockey trades today, not just from the B's, but from anyone.

Maybe if Colorado trades Duchene a top tier defenseman, they can move on from Carlo and Mcavoy.

Anyway, the only deal i would do today is Landeskog, other than that im more than happy to keep this team.

Assuming Landeskog deal is dead - then I would consider Vrbata as a rental.
4th rounder + Heinen or other Providence prospect.

Veteran presence to play with Vatrano and Spooner.
Or let him play with Krejci and move Pasternak with Spooner.
Lots of options and more depth.

I would also look at Fedor Tyutin (FA after this year) or Jason Garrison (1 more year after this one) for the bottom pairing. Would come cheap.

Vrbata on the cheap is the only deal I've read about that makes sense for this team. (I also liked the Morrow for Yakupov rumor but I think that was started here by a poster?)

Sounds like a good percentage of folks on here would rather make a bad deal than no deal at all, just to be able to get a new toy at the deadline.

What are these two guys going to do for them? Win the cup?

Why would we give up one of our top forward prospects for a washed up 35 year old winger? Makes absolutely no sense.

I think Donny is smart enough to know that if he starts trading for rentals for the future, there will be a riot.

Landeskog has like 4 years left, so I can see it, but please no Carlo.

I'm torn, think Vrbata would fit well here but don't want to pay a high price.

i think landy is a good player , but besides age i dont feel he brings anymore than backes brings to this team currently

yes more depth if added and age to me is only thing and term . To get landy or duchene they are going to want a lot
the deal would have already been made if it was the plan id assume

i think depth at goalie spot would be ideal if a move , maybe move subban and a lower end prospect for another goalie

I don't know why Sakic would trade duchene or landeskog right now. Wait until summer when things are clearer, you have more bidders, expansion draft is clearer.

Aside from the Capitals... who are you afraid of in the conference???

Honestly... we play Pittsburgh, NY Ranger, Columbus all very well. No one in the east is unbeatable.

We could go 1 and done.
We could go all the way.
