this is not really a good team but then again I went to 9 straight home losses before seeing them beat Pittsburgh

I'm going to be really irked if they keep Eriksson don't sign him and suck in the playoffs

If they make the playoffs I hope its Washington right off the bat

they are thinking though- get Vrbata and Hamhuis from Benning, trade Koko and ??? and a pick or two

hurl time

I cant believe Sweeney thinks this is a good idea

this is not taking a look at the big picture

they are delusional

Mr. Brightside, ladies and gentlemen

Hey listen I'll enjoy watching the Bruins and cheer on their wins no matter what happens.

Doesn't mean I agree with the direction this ship is sailing.

Deep down I think we all know how this is going to go.

I call a spade a spade.

I had more faith in the 2008 and 2010 teams to do damage in the post-season than this one. Mostly because no matter what those teams could defend.

But the whole "east is wide open" stuff is baloney.

TB, FLA, and Det will exploit the crap out of Boston's slow D, in particular the right side.

Hamhuis or Russell don't fix that problem.

If Loui isn't re-signing now, he's not re-signing at all.

Either way I'll enjoy the ride. Too late to turn back now.

Haggs tweet:
Word around league B's "still going to be very active" before its said & done. Vrbata & Hamhuis from Vancouver perhaps? 2 roster spots open

With the price of the D-players that would take a 1st to get it done probably.

What if Sweeney does both? Trade Loui + 1st + Chiller for Shattenkirk and then Koko + whatever for Hamuis ( and maybe vrbata)?

Ps. If this team signs Vesey in the offseason I will forgive Sweeney for any and all blunders at this deadline.

Really, think the leafs have the inside track. Have drafted his younger brother and hired his dad as a team scout. Austin Matthews, Steve Stamkos, Mitch Marner and Vesey will turn their rebuild around quickly.

When was the last time you changed what you were gonna do with your life because of where your Dad worked or where your brother was?

If you want to go that route, why not factor in coach Donato and Ryan, or Gryzz, or the every one of his Boston based friends/family?

I suspect he'll go to Nashville.

doing nothing is better than acquiring russell, vrbata, hamhuis

I just don't see any of those pieces really putting us over the edge. PLEASE Donny...PLEASE just stay away..don't waste assets on rentals.

After reading Vesey's players Tribune piece I am almost 99% certain hes going to sign with Boston. Absolutely.

What makes you say that? I read it and didn't get an incling of that. I'd say whoever makes him the most comfortable and ensures him an opening night spot gets him.

I still feel that it's way too early to get discouraged. There are 40+ hours left. A lot can shake loose tomorrow too. I have my mindset on Monday at 3, anything before that is great but really a trade can happen at 2:59 PM on Monday and not get announced for an hour after so until that time there is always hope. Buck Up Homey!:yo::D

I wouldn't say without a doubt, but that last paragraph about how proud he was about being from Boston and about how proud he is of his family's history here said to me that if he DOES go to free agency, he would want to come here.

That being said I'd absolutely trade for his rights to make that a sure thing. He's something special.
