I wonder if this is added leverage for St. Louis to a deal done.
Does adding loui and losing shatenkirk make St Louis a better team right now with Peteangelo still out?

Kelly Hrudey was just on HNIC defending Russell saying he's a heck of a player and the advance stats in his case are deceiving. He does Flames local broadcasts for what it's worth. (which is probably not much).

I haven't had a drink in better than 21 years.
Trading a high pick and a prospect for Kris Russell while simultaneously keeping Loui Eriksson without an extension would test the limits of my sobriety.
The way this shaping up:
Loui stays a Bruin past the deadline unsigned.
Boston cough's up valuable young assets to rent Russell or Hamhuis.
Morrow is bumped back to the press box.
The right side of the D is still a complete disaster.
Bruins only slightly better but still a very flawed team.
Eriksson and Hamhuis/Russell walk away on July 1.
Instead of being up a 1st rounder and a good young player, they are down those two assets and whatever picks/prospects they use to rent Hamhuis/Russell.
Talk about spinning your tires.
Best case scenario, Hamhuis would be a decent upgrade?
Or a really good upgrade?
Even best case scenario, what round does Hamhuis make us more likely to get by than we would right now? I think our most realistic hope is an ECF appearance. If a guy can't help you get past where you can go now, what's the point?

Dreger reports that the Bruins and Eriksson made no progress on a new deal during their negotiations today.

What has Sweeney done to make everyone think this deadline will be a disaster?? Ever since he took over he's done nothing but put this team in a better position... I have total faith come Monday that this team will be in great shape moving forward![]()

Wonder if term's an issue.
