I am sure BOTH fighter went in hoping to win but, after a few rounds, Mike knew he couldn't last and once Paul saw Mike was fading (fast), he :Uh....that poster, nor anyone else is saying it was rigged in the sense that Mike let Jake win.
It was rigged in the sense that it was a bullshit fight with a predetermined outcome they tried to hype up and dress up in lipstick, and Paul also stopped trying and didn't knock him out or get the fight stopped when he would have if it was an actual legit match. Nothing gained from it other than money.
And us schumcks watching and continue to talk about it....
The bolded is really the only legitmate gripe, and he did his time for it. Understand someone not being able to look past it still but he seems to have changed as a person as time went on and afaik was never accused again and doesn't seem like he ever will be. Other beloved sports figures have raped people such as Kobe Bryant.
He has one DUI arrest afaik/can see after a quick google search, didn't even involve alcohol, it was combo of cocaine/weed/meds he was taking. Irresponsible, but isolated incident. So he's not some serial drunk driver.
Cocaine, whatever, who cares what he puts into his own body as long as he aint slingin it or corrupting other people around him with it.
He's a legend in the sport.
I thought he had one round to win. I didn't expect he'd be completely gassed within 30 seconds.Oldheads really thought Tyson had a shot
I thought he had 2 rounds in him but, for anyone who as ever boxed, few things are as tiring as throwing punches - let along taking punches.I thought he had one round to win. I didn't expect he'd be completely gassed within 30 seconds.
Oldheads really thought Tyson had a shot
Forget boxing - that's his whole career. Just the time we're living in (no politics). Don't know how old you are, but this one reminded me of the celebrity boxing matches around 2k more than anything like pro boxing. We all got played and at this point I’m starting to think Jake’s entire boxing career is one massive troll job

At least the Ramos Barrios fight was a good one. And good to see some non ppv boxing too
Just being involved in this event makes him pathetic. Why’s Mike pathetic though
While i understand the sentiment, it says a lot about society when we applaud someone for not beating up a senior citizen. The guy is a massive troll but I think he understands business quite well and also was a good dude last night for not really taking it to Tyson after realizing the 58 year old was one punch from dying.
Your expectations must have been like insanely low to have been pleasantly surprised by his performance.I for one thought Tyson looked WAY better than I expected. I mean I could tell from him walking to the ring his legs were the issue and I was saying it to my buddies right from the get-go before Roy Jones Jr starting commenting about it that that was the issue. But legs aside, Mike's boxing was far more crisp and fast then I expected, like much more so. So in my opinion it wasn't nearly the embarrassment I was expecting, not even close. I mean yes Paul won quite easily and it was quite generous to give Mike any rounds at all, maybe the first I'd give him. Regardless, again, Tyson performed much better than I expected at least and had his legs not been so deficient it would have been a fairly close fight or even a KO ending. So yeah, I was actually pleasantly surprised though I'd say that hopefully it's Mike's last bout.
But other than that, yes boxing is in a sad state it seems to me.
