Throw in a non original six Pittsburgh, and that will be a first time for that too.
That's nice and all but we kind of need y'all to step up in a different fashion tonight.![]()
That's definitely a take....not a very good one. But it's still a take.Big yawn. Apart from fans of those 6 teams, nobody really cares about the Original 6 thing.
You're right, but the poster I was responding to certainly couldn't make that point. How was Florida, Colorado or Vegas' Cups affected by the O6's history? I don't see any conflict between past and present.
The NHL's original six are part of hockey's wider story, interesting as an historical reference and as part of its lore. This thread points out an historical oddity relating to four of those teams, but it doesn't interfere in any way with the current playoffs. I have no idea why people would object to pointing this out.
Not a comparison. Just stating a first in the NHL.
Ya the original 4.No American teams founded the league. It was founded but 4 Canadian teams . The first American team came in 1924. The tern Original Six just refers to the existing six teams when they expanded to 12 teams in 1967. Those six teams had been the only teams in the league since the 1942-43 season.
Those 4 teams didn’t form the league.Comprehension is obviously hard for some people to understand.
Blue Jackats, Islanders, Buffalo, Flyers, Pens, flames, Vancouver, Utah, Ducks, Seattle, Nashville, and San Jose missing the playoffs is just one of those things.
But Having the 4 American teams that founded the league miss the playoffs? That has far more impact.
Oh so Boston didn't qualify? Oh, I hadn't noticed...
Anyone know where they are in the Eastern Conference standings right now? I'm looking up and down but having trouble finding them.![]()
Yet the less likely to win...Leafs may be only O6 team in playoffs.
