It seems only Weyland Yutani knows, which sort of would explain the first movie's synths actions.I've been looking forward to this for a few years now, more so than the new movie(s). I'm encouraged that it's supposed to adopt the style and mythology of the original movie, rather than those of Prometheus and Covenant.
The premise is slightly concerning, though. It's supposedly a prequel set on Earth two years before the 1979 movie, so how is it going to be that humanity isn't aware of its existence and characteristics in that movie and Aliens? That'll be interesting.
Yeah, so we have to believe that they'll be able to completely cover it up. Are all of the characters of the show going to die or will they sign NDAs? It won't be very heroic if the survivors assist the coverup. Anyways, I'm sure that Noah Hawley has an explanation, but we'll probably have to wait until the end of the series to learn it.It seems only Weyland Yutani knows, which sort of would explain the first movie's synths actions.
I can see a company like Weyland Yutani in that universe capable of completely covering everything.Yeah, so we have to believe that they'll be able to completely cover it up. So can I, but the conflict will have to be relatively controlled and isolated, and knowing that there won't be the widespread conflict that fans have wanted and that the company will get away with covering it up in the end takes a little away from the series.I can see a company like Weyland Yutani in that universe capable of completely covering everything.
I think synths and those other creatures will be involved. And as we know, Weyland Yutani has no problem killing "witnesses" that could interfere with business. So can I, but the conflict will have to be relatively controlled and isolated, and knowing that there won't be the widespread conflict that fans have wanted and that the company will get away with covering it up in the end takes a little away from the series.
I'm still excited for it, though. I just wonder if it might've been better to set it after Aliens so that the storyline and ending wouldn't be handcuffed so much by canon. Then again, Andor is similarly handcuffed and that's excellent, so, hopefully, this is made as well as that.
This morning FX and Hulu confirmed that Alien: Earth will premiere this August, alongside a bevy of new images from the show, which begin to lift the lid on the series’ premise. Alien: Earth is set in 2120, just two years before the events of the original film, and follows life on Earth as it is dominated by the corporate interests of five governing companies: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold. Each of those five corporations in racing to unlock the key to immortality, advancing human longevity through the development of synthetic life and cybernetics. But things heat up when Prodigy’s CEO announces that the company has managed to synthesize those two fields and create the very first hybrid form of life: Wendy (played by Sydney Chandler), a human consciousness merged with a synthetic android body.
Alien: Earth premieres its first two episodes on August 12 on Hulu at 8pm ET, and on FX and Disney+ at 8pm PT / ET (August 13 in the UK and internationally on Disney+). New episodes of the eight-episode season debut each following Tuesday.
General idea of the movie could be interesting and where it is in the timeline; Wonder if an old Weyland played by Guy Pearce will cameo or Fassbender as David.

I don't think any of that means it can't be good though. I have a lot of faith in Noah Hawley based on how good Fargo is. I've never seen Legion but it's quite critically acclaimed as well.So basically Caprica?
This sounds very unappealing and many people will tune in and quickly tune out when they realize this has nothing to do with alien
Also considering how awful Prometheus and Covenant turned out revisiting them would seem to set up failure from get go here
Still cant believe how they introduced and then quickly disregarded the "Engineers" storyline
I am going to give it a chance and as for Prometheus and Covenant, I like the former though not the later as much.So basically Caprica?
