What if Laf’s parents are like evil, crazy folks who forged his birth certificate and convinced him he was 9 when he was like 14 and the reason he dominated juniors and had a full beard as a 17 year old is because he’s actually like 27 years old right now. And that’s why he’s so bad. He was actually like 23 at the WJC.

I swear I saw a picture of Laf in a bar eating wings with John Lennon and Jackie Gleason.

2. While Laf is getting the majority of concern we also need Kakko and even Cuyle to step up more as well.

Edit: I'm talking in terms of production. I want our young forwards to all know we need our top 9 forwards to produce.

Don't get the hate so far these first few games. Easy to say since the points aren't there but he's been solid so far. He's making tricky passes that he's failed to execute in the past. The glimpses are there

He played a good first game. I'll acknowledge that.

But after that?

Have no idea what you are talking about!! Cuylle has looked great, through 4 games he has been one of our top 3 forwards on the ice in at least 2 of the games. Thats getting one of the lower least ice time totals among all the forwards

Not putting Cuylle down. I'm happy with Cuylle in general. I just think we need to set a production level of expectation for all our young forwards that play in the top 9. In the last 4-5 years we have been disappointed by our young forwards production. I would say the same thing for Oth and he has not even played a NHL game yet. If any of these guys produce their ice time and roles will increase.

Just speaking about production. We need all young guys to set their expectations higher than 20-30 point seasons if they want to be top 9 forwards. Nothing wrong with trying to encourage guys to set their sites higher than what we have had for 3-4 years.

I could buy Kakko as a player who's afraid to make mistakes.

Lafreniere makes a mistake almost every time he looks at the puck and we keep sending him out there for the most part so I don't know where that comes from.
