At this point, just wait for him to grow into it. It could be as early as next year. No one has really earned it since McDonagh left, and they’ve held off this long.Just give him the C already
Those Stutzle threads are aging like milk. Anyone with a functioning brain cell could’ve told you Laf was better than how he started the year and it was premature declaring Stutzle the best player in his class. Now outscoring GOAT Stutzle at ES.
?And we were oh so close to taking the third best player in the draft offer.
ooooooHe kept coming into this thread and saying that Lafreniere was most likely going to bw the third best player from his draft lol
Lest we forget....
It's Alexis Lafreniere....
then everyone else ( Kakko and Kravtsov ).
He will be in his own realm. The kid is a monster and it will begin to manifest over the coming seasons.
Ahh....there's oneKids a bust. Just our effin’ luck.
Stifling his potential.I don't think it's Lafrenière
I think it's this system he is playing in that doesn't allow for creativity
Stifling his potential.
It was. He's doing much better on a line with creative players in Zibanejad and Buchnevich, and Chytil and Kakko prior.
Good observation.
The ruination continuesWell said. This is pretty much the summary of Quinn. Kaapo giving up trying to be creative last year because of Quinn's suffocating over coaching is what we've been seeing with every single young forward. Quinn is trying to create an entire team of Jesper Fasts.
There was nothing of that being done, Mr. "McDavid would only have 40 points under Quinn". When told what circumstances Lafreniere came into the league, it was much easier to ignore what possible effects that could have on a teenage rookie and just blame the coaching staff. It was. He's doing much better on a line with creative players in Zibanejad and Buchnevich, and Chytil and Kakko prior.
Good observation.
Laf has shown his shot this year with some crazy snipe attempts but came away with some posts, crossbars (terrible angle bar and out I specifically remember being impressed by) and great glove saves. Nice to see him cash in, what a RIP that was last night.
No. The point is that he is already ruined, remember? Can't you see the results? They gave him the opportunity earlier in the season and he clearly wasn't ready for it. But he is now, so whatever they did, it worked. Isn't that the point?
