Shame Barron didn't work out... clock was ticking louder by the day, and despite the opportunity and need he couldn't seem to take that next step.

Carrier is an interesting short term upgrade at RD, and makes it easier to trade Savard before the deadline.

Was saying a while ago that Alexandre Carrier is someone I would target in a trade. He has another 2 years left at $3.75M AAV after this year. He's 28 years old and an RD. He's not a big body. But he's no pushover. He plays hard.

I was looking for him more as someone who can replace David Savard. Getting him only for Barron is a nice piece of business.
