So... Friday night's game against CHI is on NHL Network, the least accessible cable channel that shows NHL games. The Blackhawks are one of the worst teams in the league, and Ovechkin is currently only a hat trick away from beating Gretzky's record. It could happen Friday night.

Someone please tell me this game will also be broadcast nationally on TNT or ESPN+. Someone please tell me that the NHL isn't so stupid that they would risk even the remotest possibility of Ovechkin beating Gretzky's record on a third-tier cable channel that isn't available on multiple streaming services (YouTube TV, Hulu Live), and is only available as part of an extra-$$$ sports package on cable and... Fubo, I guess?

My boss was asking me which i was more excited about on Wednesday night… the Cup or OV record. For context, when Caps won Cup I went off the grid for 4 days. Now it was also my 50th birthday and he loves to talk about it. I actually had a hard time answering that question for the first time. We are about to witness history. Some beyond hockey. Beyond the team. To be part of that as a fan is some amazing.

I’ll be at the game tonight hoping for a hat trick! And then i want another Cup as well because… while grateful, i am also greedy!
