Mike Vogel was just on Grant & Danny. "He's hobbling around. He's on crutches"

He did add that he was "hopeful" it wasnt too bad given that Ovechkin got up on his own and skated off on his own power.

Edited to add Tweet from Grant:
I’m not an orthopedist but I bet if there’s any suspected injury to the MCL or any other ligaments, the first order of business would be crutches and an immobilizing brace to stabilize the knee until they can have imaging done and know exactly what they’re dealing with. You don’t want a partial tear to become a full tear.

I broke my foot a few years ago (minor fracture) and was on crutches for a few days before getting treatment. Was back playing in about 10 days IIRC.

All that to say, in Ovi’s case I think crutches would be a given for at least the first couple days post-injury, regardless of long term prognosis.

Carbery said “it isn’t season ending but he is week to week” which is very broad. The season ends in April and it’s only November. To me it sounds like he will probably be out a month. Obviously speculating/reading between the lines but it doesn’t make much sense to state “it’s not season ending” if he will only be out a week. Also probably want to be cautious to not bring him back too early given his age.

I heard from my buddy who read a blogpost of his uncle's nephew's Caps fandom meet-up group that they might need to amputate.

You read it here first.
