He was my favorite player in my teen years. I have quite a few of his memorabilia. It is very unfortunate that injuries hampered his career and ultimately did him in. I remember when he was a young prospect, he actually had decent speed.
Despite the popular opinions of him, I think he was one of the best wingers we've had, and I absolutely loved his game. I model my own game off of Frolov's (heavy possession, intelligent positioning, and opportunisitc). I never wanted to see him go and wish we could have kept him. Even on the third line, he dominated possession and he outproduced most on a dismal team.
He was one of the most consistent players we've had as well. He was always good for 20 goals and 50 points per year minimum. Despite what people thought his ceiling was, that is pretty good given the teams he played on in LA...
