Frolov was misunderstood. And no I don't give a **** if you disagree.

Does "misunderstood" translate to "lazy" in Russian?

Dude wasn't a stud, but he was a more than decent player on a list of bad teams. He was one of the few reasons to really get behind this team for about 3-4 years, its to bad we never got to see what he'd do on a team like the one we have now. Thanks for the memories Fro, enjoy your years ahead of you.

One of the more unique players and people to play for the Kings. I always like Fro.

Hope the Kings do a Legends night for him someday.

It's ironic how the Kings implemented a puck possession system and he wasn't around for it.

That really is the grand irony of it all. The Kings now thrive on puck possession and he was one of the best there is at that part of the game, and he was cut loose right before the Kings started really hammering the puck possession game home.

Because it can never be posted enough.

I wonder if my Alexander Frolov collection will be worth more now..

-3 Jerseys
-2 Posters
-Hundreds of Cards (Rookies, Autographs, etc.)
-3 Autographed Sticks
-1 Light Switch Metal thingy
-4 Autographed 8x10 Photos
-Hand written note from Terry Murray on Fro
-2 Autographed Pucks

This is a sad sad day.. I was hoping he would make a return to the NHL.

Does it say 'I must break you'?

He was my favorite player in my teen years. I have quite a few of his memorabilia. It is very unfortunate that injuries hampered his career and ultimately did him in. I remember when he was a young prospect, he actually had decent speed.

Despite the popular opinions of him, I think he was one of the best wingers we've had, and I absolutely loved his game. I model my own game off of Frolov's (heavy possession, intelligent positioning, and opportunisitc). I never wanted to see him go and wish we could have kept him. Even on the third line, he dominated possession and he outproduced most on a dismal team.

He was one of the most consistent players we've had as well. He was always good for 20 goals and 50 points per year minimum. Despite what people thought his ceiling was, that is pretty good given the teams he played on in LA...

Loved the guy. Defended him for many years regarding people wanting to trade him all the time. He wore some really awful sweaters though..

True, but the current group know what to do with the puck once they get it. They don't just hold onto it in the corners like Fro was prone to do until 2 guys go to him and take it right back. To me he always held on longer than he needed to, and never used his teamates enough to create scoring chances.

Maybe because he was often on lines with guys like Derek Armstrong, not Jeff Carter?
