So Jason Zucker, then?So I’m gonna predict how the rest of this thread unfolds: people will be upset that the rationale for trading him for futures and spare parts doesn’t work so they’ll get upset. They will then shot on the player or the reasoning. Someone else will make a ridiculous counter offer or request (wait, I see that has already happened) that is outlandish and unlikely to happen.
And then it will get kicked up every couple days as fans of the teams involved keep talking past one another.
They must have a happy hour in your dumpster...Would love Alain Toch in Detroit, 100% an actually good player just in that dumpsterfire team.
The Devils need another top six forward in my opinion
If the Sabres are making moves, is Alex Tuch available? What would it take to get him?

I feel like you just quoted Oscar the grouch or some shitYep. It's easier to drink alcohol when it's not on fire.
In that dumpster, we order our favorite drink...1st overall picks.
Is it true that Saint Larkin hollowed be thy name blesses all the dumpsters? I've heard rumors....Nope.

Yeah right Forrest Larkin must've drank about 15 Dr. Peppers.....Well the rumors are true. Whenever Larkin misses a game or gets 'injured', he's actually on a mission to piss in all dumpsters located in Buffalo.
From what I've heard, he only needed a coke.
Mercer, Casey for Tuch+I’d a deal with NJD is made, the price will not be something Devils fans want.
I almost created a similar thread, about what a trade would have to include to land Tuch in Edmonton. I realize Sabre fans don't want futures in a trade for their players. I think, realistically, futures will be part of and perhaps most of the return for anyone who exits Buffalo.
When a team is spiraling like this and headed to the bottom of the league the GM and the Coach are thinking about keeping their jobs. That's exactly as it should be in this case. This will probably cause Kevyn Adams to make a deal sooner rather than later and he won't be dealing from a position of strength.
They'll be the usual GMs circling around like buzzards looking to rip the Sabres off. A decent offer, like a futures heavy one from Edmonton, might pry a guy like Tuch loose.
Tuch is a UFA in a year and a half and he may not want to stay in Buffalo or ask for a big contract, although he is still a second liner, not a first. Personally, I do not think he is untouchable in a trade for the right hockey deal.Isn't Tuch one of the guys who actually wants to be in Buffalo? Plus he loves Buffalo growing up a fan of that team. Ignoring other things and due to Buffalo's rumored inability to attract players, they shouldn't be moving a guy like that at all.
At one point, I thought he'd be a good target for Calgary, but then I realized he wasn't going to leave. Sabres fans will know more, but I thought he was probably a prime candidate to be their captain so I was surprised Oksposo was named captain over him.
I kinda get why Dahlin was named captain, but also felt like Tuch might have been a better choice over Dahlin. Sorta like a Landeskog/Mack/Makar scenario. Let Dahlin focus on the game. Let Tuch do the other heavy lifting.
I'm not piling on to Buffalo fans, but if push comes to shove and another Eichel type situation arises again, IMO making Tuch captain makes the most sense to try and stop their death spiral. I was under the impression that if push came to shove, the team should be keeping and building around Tuch vs other talented players on that roster. My understanding was that he wasn't the most talented guy on the team, but he offers a good example and mentality that would be important for the team to embrace (ie: Landeskog scenario).
Theoretically if the Sabres move Tuch, I surmise there would be indications that they need to restart their rebuild.
Demanding accountability and effort and wanting to stay in a city is honestly a pretty low bar. You need guys like that in the locker room, but that doesn't translate to being a good captain.Tuch is a UFA in a year and a half and he may not want to stay in Buffalo or ask for a big contract, although he is still a second liner, not a first. I disagree about the captain. I think Dahlin deserved it. He is a veteran of the team, he does a lot of work off the ice, he may not be as eloquent as Tuch, but he always demands accountability and effort from his teammates in practices and games. I am not saying Tuch would be a bad captain or anything like that, but I have no problem with captain Dahlin, he likes Buffalo, he considers it his hometown, he started his own charity foundation, it seems he wants to start a family here.

I disagree, players need to compete, put in effort. Look at all the captains in the league, they are different. I have no doubt that Landeskog is a great captain, and Tuch doesn't need C to help in the locker room.Demanding accountability and effort and wanting to stay in a city is honestly a pretty low bar. It's why Landy has been such a great leader and captain as opposed to Mackinnon. Being eloquent and personable are components of building a good locker room. You want your captain to be a guy that players feel comfortable talking to.
Mack is great at helping create a winning culture and holding people accountable, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'd be a good captain. That's part of the Avs issue right now, they don't have a guy like Landy to help steer the ship and manage all the personalities in the locker room.
