To Montreal:

Alex Tuch
Connor Clifton

To Buffalo

Josh Anderson
Lane Hutson
Jordan Harris

Tuch would be the perfect fit for Montreal IMO. He certainly not on the block, but is the value there? Do we have what it takes to move him out of Buffalo?

What do you think Sabres fans?
No way trading Hutson. That will end up being collasal mistake

Wtf and your a Habs fan wow

I doubt he is. Guys that rarely post, that I never see on the Habs boards comes up with a ridiculous trade proposal? I rebuke. Also doesn't show up again in the thread? Yeah.

Sabres might do it for Kakko .. but everyone knows he's untouchable

Good one. Rags fans want the world for that never-was.

Tuch is being treated like he’s some kind of incredible player in this thread. I get he’s good, but he’s a 2nd line winger. Some of you keep focusing on points. Anderson isn’t a playmaker. He scores and hits. And for context, has the same number of career goals as Tuch. I was just reminding people, aside from last year, he hasn’t been that bad. Many players don’t live up to their contracts. If he bounces back at his usual 20 goal pace, he’s a valuable player with size. And No he hasn’t lived up to his contract. He wasn’t the centrepiece of this awful deal anyway; it was Hutson

Tuch is s local kid who grew up a Sabres fsn. Hes a fan favorite so trading him would be a PR nightmare. He was also a big piece in the Eichel trade.

So trading him will need to be a big trade.

Tuch and others in yop 6 dealt with injuries for much of the season ( playing with them) and PP was a problem.

In team stats TB and BUF...stats were equal or better for Buffalo except for special teams.

Buffalo does not need Hutson. They need players like Tuch.

You’ve got an interesting take on 2nd line winger.

Since Jan. 1 2022 (basically since he’s arrived in Buffalo) Tuch is 11th in the NHL in points by a right winger.

If you want it to be about more than points, Tuch is 6'4" 220, skates like the wind, plays both special teams, has excellent possession numbers and wears a letter. He's also on a very good contract.

(The trade proposal is bad for both sides: assets neither side wants to give up for new players that don't particularly fit their current situations)

Tuch is a great player that genuinely wants to be in Buffalo which is rare and that's not meant as a shot, they should not consider dealing him.

Hutson has potential upside to be the Habs single best player since probably Subban in his prime, zero interest in trading that but he also makes no sense whatsoever as a target for Buffalo

Horrendous.

Buffalo does not need LD
Anderson us a cap dump
Clifton is their only RHD under contract.

Who are Montreal lo s 3 best players? What are their top 3 prosprcys.

It will cost you one of each for buffalo to trade Tuch
Habs are not trading any of Suzuki Dach Caufield Slaf or Guhler for Tuch straight up so...

The trade doesn't make sense for either team. If Buffalo was in MAJOR need of a future PP1 offensive weapon on the backend, I could see a young player swap (something like Peterka for Hutson(I'm not saying the value is fair - just so Montreal fans dont come dumping on me)) but not a package deal like this. Montreal doesn't need to rush to trade a potential PPG backend talent like Hutson

he had a shit year. If he bounces back with another 25 goal year, he'll be suddenly good again - especially if habs trade, many of you will magically find his value again.
And if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. Anderson gets shit on a lot, but he can score goals and hit...the problem, as we all know, is his cap hit. Even if he bounces back and scores 20, he would still be a 30 year old being overpaid significantly.

For the record, I think there is a very legit shot Anderson "bounces back." He only shot 6.4% last year compared to 12.8%, 12.6% and 13.6% the past three years respectively (career 11.6% prior to last season). IF his shooting percentage bounces back to his career average and IF he can stay healthy then he can probably put up 20 goals again...but those are big IF's and he still wouldn't have much value without salary retention IMO.

Tuch is a 1st liner by literally every metric you could possibly think of.

Florida got Reinhart from us for a package.

Vegas got Eichel from us for a package.

Philly got Risto from us for a package.

OReilly...Miller...Vanek...Pominville...Gaustad.

If there's ONE franchise of fans not to make this criticism at...it's the one that's fed everyone else the last decade.
Because fans are the ones making deals.... ?

Hell no. We don't need Tuch and why the hell would we trade a potential superstar in Hutson exactly? Terrible for the Habs.

I like Tuch as a player but I don't think he really fits Montreal's window. Montreal will also never trade Hutson with how bad our PP and defensive production has been since Markov left.

Putting aside the value part, from a position standpoint it doesn't make any sense for Buffalo. Especially after just trading adding LHD in Byram to a defense that includes Dahlin & Power.

Hutson needs PP time & will be blocked from achieving his potential on that team, and I'm sure MTL isn't keen to give him up anyways.

Tuch is going to be tough to pry out of Buffalo as he's a core piece there, which is too bad cause he'd look great in Vancouver but I don't see him moving
