Andrew Peters, former Sabre who no longer works for the team and instead simply has a hockey podcast. He was interviewed about the Eichel trade today, since he was the first person to post that it was happening.

S&R Interview - Andrew Peters - Thursday, 11/4/21 - The Shredd & Ragan Show Daily Podcast - Omny.fm

Peters was a roid head who is trying to make a living on hot takes.

Peters walked into a team that went to back to back conference championships playing 3 minutes a night and no playoff games.

He's a has been who is trying to get paid to give his opinions

He was also around the team as a host for years. That gave him access to people and circumstances in which does he have bearing. JS Dea had similar sort of commentary on his way out as well just this past summer.

I mean if you really want to shit on Peters you really only need to mention his experience with the Jr Sabres, I think that would be enough.

However, I'm not sure what playing experience has to do with having hockey opinions, I'm pretty sure everyone here is a shitty hockey player, comparatively speaking of course, but that doesn't stop anyone here from sharing their opinions. As @Chainshot mentioned, he was in a position to make contacts around the league. Him and Rivet also have the #6 rated hockey podcast right now, so people actually want to listen to them, so there's that.

All that being said, nothing you mentioned has anything to do with the opinions he shared during this interview. Do you have (factual) reasons to believe anything he stated is false?

Summary of the backstab for those that can’t listen?
Not much of a backstab. Lazy summary would be: Eichel put himself on a high horse, treated other players as if they were an inconvenience and he's never seen a star player behave like that. That being payed 10 million didn't help since Eichel still wanted out.

I wouldn’t pay attention to him, for a “fan” he tends to think anything against the players he likes means it’s wrong, a lie, fake, biased, stupid or the fault of everyone other then the player.

He's our default #1 RW when he's back. Curious if increased PP and ES ice time will get him into 30 goal range or not. Does he work well with Skinner? That really is the 9M dollar question.
Not sure about Skinner but would love to see how he does with Mitts.

Honestly it's great to have a playoff performing speedy goal scoring power forward with a lot of experience but is only 25. Going forward he's the perfect example of the types of veterans this team has lacked.

I watched a ton of Vegas games and last playoffs he was their best player on most nights.
Right on. He stood out in what I saw of Vegas in last years playoffs too. Seemed like the rest of the players were in slow motion when the puck was on his stick and he was just a force.
