Teams are looking for good players signed to good contracts. Buffalo has one here at 4.75M for 5 more years. This gives the Sabres another 5.25M for another good player or players when you subtract Tuch's cap hit from Eichel's cap hit. There are many ways to build a team in the cap era. Spreading out the cap instead of focusing it on one player can be just as effective.

Buffalo is looking for good players signed on good deals.

He's our default #1 RW when he's back. Curious if increased PP and ES ice time will get him into 30 goal range or not. Does he work well with Skinner? That really is the 9M dollar question.

Only if he comes with Mysak too, so we can run a prospect line of Tuch Mysak and Pekar (which will also be my new fantasy team name). Sure, it only works if you pronounce the names wrong, but have we truly learned nothing from Rob Ray?
"Tuck" totally still works. It's actually better tbh

Adams seems to love the guy. Got me excited even though I'm already quite familiar with Tuch ever since his WJC days playing with Jack.

I am so very the moon for Tuch. I never thought Vegas would move him with his production and contract

His production was never that great for Vegas mainly because of their insane wing depth & his subsequent role with them. He was an obvious candidate to be in this trade all along. Very happy we got him.

Hopefully he gets to keep #89.

I was mainly referencing his friendly contract.

I get you - but he's pricey for a third line winger which is essentially what he was for them.

They are going to be screwed cap wise in the near future. I don't even know how they will be able to move all of their LTIR guys back to their roster...

They certainly can't afford to be paying a non-core player 4.75m - even if it's a great contract in a vacuum.

His production doesn't look great but as a Sharks fan, I can tell you that he is extremely impactful as a player. He can move up and down the lineup and any line he's on he makes better. He is a true power forward who really uses his speed and size well to create space for himself and others.

You don't need to convince us. A few of us targeted Tuch since the Eichel rumours first started.

Tuch already has many fans in WNY (and not just his family and friends!).

Was it you or @Der Jaeger that was on the "Trade for Tuch before he breaks out and put him Eichel's wing" train?

I think @Der Jaeger has liked Tuch forever. First scouted him on the maternity ward.

I was hoping we might be able to get him from Minnesota during the Vegas ED process. Then i watched quite a bit of Vegas during their first season & saw him as a perfect target since then.
