Anyone else scared he is going to stand around watching the game with stage freight? Guy suffers from analysis paralysis.

Willy and Mikey boy better lay into him and get him doing stuff.

Marlies line:

This was predictable based on Berube's past lines.

Some of these players on the bubble are going to get 6-7 games before a decision is made regarding the roster.
It is basically open try out season.

First brothers suiting up for the Leafs since the Ihnacak brother

121 NHL games, 25G/24A, 12.6 shooting %.

He had a decent year with Buff in 18/19, another with Chicago in 19/20, and then really nothing until last year with the Blue Jackets where he popped for 15 points in 23 games.

What's holding this kid back? Brain dead?
Sometimes the game is a foot too fast. Doesnt mean they are brain dead. It’s difficult making the NHL let alone career out of it.
The kid has some talent. Will he change his game to find a spot here? It was a free wallet. Let’s see if he takes that next step. Might be a full time AHL’er and nothing is wrong with that.

Alex is much like his brother, great offence / defensive lapses. He needs to play sheltered minutes to be effective. He will score but he will also be a hot mess without the puck.

More worried about him standing around doing nothing dazed and confused like in pre. Hope the Marlies conditioned him better for Berube.

Yes but it'll come down to whoever is playing best in the end.

Hopefully we get some picks for Robertson/Holmberg and have a healthier new year.
I think it will revolve in who needs waivers to go back down. You keep your depth for later. It's a long year

After 121 NHL games, why would he have stage fright more than the rookie call-ups?

it's more about fear the longer it goes

you fear about doing the wrong thing that you don't do the right things, the things that makes you a special player

How’s Willy going to react when his bro gets waived or sent down? Is he going to shrug and keep going, or is this going to be a problem?

I bet problem, but hey, hopefully I’m wrong.
Honestly, depends on how Alex plays. Like if he plays like Robbie, quite stupid to be upset if Alex gets send down.
If Alex plays like McMann, while better than Robbie, Holmberg and Steeves and still gets send down before them then Willy and also us fans should be mad

Marlies line:

The Minten, Grebenkin Nylander line is a straight export from the Toronto Marlies:

Maybe the longer you go before starting, but not after you've played that much.

Doubtful A. Nylander sticks as an NHL player and have no hopes for him providing more than depth injury relief. I’d expect to see him waived in the not too distant future.

But should be a cool story to see the brothers play for a few games and he’s the right call-up considering how far down the chart we are.
