Give Newhook his top 6 ice time and pp minutes to another more talented player and you will see the difference in productivity. The problem is that Montreal doesn't have anybody else to steal his ice time yet.
It's like in the NBA... If a player is playing 35 mins, averages 18 points, with 40 attempted shots per game, he will be relegated to the bench pretty quick after a few tries.
As soon as Demidov, a new top 6 center, a new top 9 UFA and maybe Kapanen emerges, Newhook will be relegated to the 3rd and hopefully 4th line as soon as next year.
