Confirmed with Link: Alex Iafallo 3x3.66M

35 million in cap space left.. with only 5 spots to fill wowwwwwwwwsaaaaa
$32.7M left now, I think...and 8 spots to fill: Ehlers, Vilardi, Tanev, Appleton, Barron, Kupari, Pionk, Samberg.

Vilardi $8M
Ehlers $9M
Samberg $6M
Pionk $7M

That leaves just $2.7M for Tanev, Appleton, Barron, and Kupari.

But maybe one (or both?) of Ehlers/Pionk won't be back. Barron and maybe Kupari will probably get signed regardless. Tanev and Appleton might both be gone depending on the Ehlers/Pionk situation.

Then raises for Connor, Perfetti and maybe Lowry the following year. Not sure if the cap increase will cover the difference over their current deals

I'm going to watch this video whenever i hear some dumb player saying he doesn't want to come to Winnipeg . Don't care what anyone says Chevy is the best GM in hockey and it's not even close. Now a song about Iwillfallo ....:naughty:

"The camaraderie is great, you can call anyone on the team at any time etc etc" meaning they don't have any primadonnas, headcases and locker room cancers on the team any longer.

I have absolutely no worries when it comes to Chevy getting everyone signed that he wants signed and at great deals. If i was a new car salesman and saw Chevy walk in i would run away, far away.

Yeah they will still need to make some decisions as you are likely looking at an increase over their current hits of about $9 to $10 million for those 3.

Did not expect this, I assumed he would leave for the chance of a bigger role, but I like it when Im wrong. Still expect Ehlers to leave and end up in Carolina

Great signing at a fair price. Nice that Chevy has gotten a couple deals out of the way during the season. My guess is Pionk will be next to sign and then the RFA guys later in the summer during the run up to the arbitration hearings. Ehlers is the biggest unknown, but I trust Chevy will navigate his way through.

I think they should wait to see how many games Ehlers misses in the playoffs. You can't pay the guy too much if he is never available. He is most people's favorite Jet, but, winning is more important than individual fandom.

If chicago wants to give him 10 mil to play with Bedard, then thank you for your service and all the great memories.

I thought LA included Iafallo as a Cap dump …. Useful player but they felt they over paid him by a million ( 3mill instead of 4 mill)

I value more <Neidereitter at 4 million for the next 2 years and Namestaknov @ 3 million just signed last month. > ( Iafallo)

We need to sign Barron to a 4 year 2.5 million contract better value. > Iafallo contract

I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ if there’s room for an Apples extension…. Have to make room for some new blood.

If it’s a choice between… Connor > Ehlers …. It’s a pretty easy choice . (Connor is available for an extension this July 1 st)

I love Ehlers but it comes down to his durability to stay in the line up!

Kupari 2 years @ 1.65 mill

I do not mind this Iafallo signing… but I am a little surprised by it.. As I thought that this was were we were going to save some cap room.

He must be valued highly in the dressing room.

A lot of people compared this signing to the 3 year Perrault signing a few years back. I didn’t like that last Perrault 3 year contract. I like this signing / have a better feeling it might age better than Perrault contract.

Apples is no longer really needed on this roster it's time for a prospect or two to make the jump, will alos help the Cap
i wouldn't mind Appleton back at the 2m range as a vet 4th liner. there isn't room for a prospect in the top-9 unless ehlers is gone. i doubt they signed Iafallo to this deal to have him as a 4th liner.

Yeah, I have built up a lot of trust in Chevy's negotiation skills over the years. But I am starting to think Ehlers will be the odd man out, when all the dust settles.

I want to see Samberg locked up for 8 years. That might require a little more money.

The trade-off there might be losing Pionk. So be it, if necessary. I would rather have Sammy locked up than have Pionk getting too much, too long. We won't have the option of signing Pionk for 1, 2 or even 3 years so he will be in the way. Salomonsson is almost ready and we will have DeMelo, Schenn and Miller. Salo can take Pionk's roster spot and be eased in gradually. I think we should try to keep Coghlan for depth.

I don't have that warm and fuzzy feeling that Nik is going to re sign and by the sounds of it some are okay with it. Vilardi is going to be interesting, has this latest injury caused some concern about a long term deal.

Some are more than OK to say good-bye to Ehlers. I think he goes and will be missed big time, except for the 15 games he will miss. Well, I mean he will be missed for those too, but that happens whether he goes or stays. Hope he is back in a week and makes a major contribution to the Cup pursuit.

Neither Lambert nor Chibrikov is capable of replacing him. Not even close.
