Alex Galchenyuk Thread 8.0 - "Time on Ice" Edition

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

I'm going to sound like a homer, but Galchenyuk needs to carry the puck more. I'm starting to wonder if Housley even knows who he is. It's embarassing watching guys like Gaudreau, Barber and Kuraly "carrying" the play when you have Galchenyuk sitting on the wing doing nothing.

The 7 seconds when he had the puck on his stick with the powerplay led to damn near one of the best chances for the U.S. in the entire period.

He touched the puck three times while in the offensive zone.

1. Led to a pass to Rielly, for a shot on net.
2. Led to a pass to Trouba, for a shot on net.
3. Led to a nice dangle and a shot that went wide.

I feel the pain of Gally, he look like me when I play with peewee and I am waiting for the puck all the time:cry:

and when I got the puck, I pass it to a peewee player and never see it again lol

Kuraly is playing bad. When he has the puck you just know it will be turned over.

Good shift there by Gally.

Ferarro saying that Galchenyuk was invisible against Russia and is non-existent here today. Needs to get open more and work harder.

... Is he watching a different tournament?

I am unsure why he isn't getting top offensive duties.

I mean, Miller? Grimaldi? Nothing against them, but really?

And yes, I'm late.

Ferraro is, hands down, the worst colour man I have ever heard. This includes Benoit Brunet. He's just garbage. He's a garbage commentator, and he's garbage! GARBAGE!

Galchenyuk's missed the net 3 times tonight, he has to be better there.

But I don't blame his puck skills for being off since he's barely touched the thing tonight. How did he get only one touch on the puck in 4 minutes of powerplay time? Killing me Housley.

His hilarious attempt to get mad at Lapierre for an accidental collision with Scott Nichol was the crowning moment of his colour commentary experience. "I THINK YOURE GARBAGE LAPIERRE!!! GRRR"

With the talent he has, no matter the composition of the lines, Gally needs to make the guys around him better. He is not doing it so far. He's just another player of a really weak offensive squad right now. Not that it's at all relevant, but the kid stays in Juniors. You do not waste a year on half of a season.

The way I see it, Canada is making it really difficult for him to get the puck. His linemates struggle to make plays under the type of pressure they get, and it shows.

It's up to the coach to see that and make changes, but he's MIA so far.
