Don't look now, but the offensive production for our C is now:

Plekanec: 28 points
Desharnais: 22 points
Eller: 21 points
Galchenyuk: 20 points

One of those gets a lot more minutes than the latter 2, plays with arguably our best winger, and still barely outproduces them.

Desharnais's play is getting really worrysome. But back on topic; Galchenyuk is doing really well for a 18/19 years old kid in the NHL. You really can see he's rounding up into shape these days. Looks good for next season.

It's hard to imagine how powerful he'll be when he hits 215 pounds and is being used 20 minutes per game.

You can just see his confidence growing game by game. While I don't feel like he's getting enough ice time I still think they're doing a good job developing him and putting him in opportunities to succeed.

One thing is certain.. he's getting more comfortable controlling the puck at the NHL level. His moves to create the Prust and Eller goals are top notch.

At this point of the season, where we're virtually sure to be in the 5 top teams in the East (Top 4 if nothing goes wrong), we really should give him opportunities to learn and improve.

I'm really happy we kept him up this season. Had we waited, he would have played less hockey, AND he would have gone through the same growing pains next season. Now, we can reasonably expect top-6 numbers from him next season.

I'm going to go crazy when he finally posts one of his wristshots though...came very close last night.

He's almost calibrated

Same. All of his goals have been in close... once that ridiculous shot finally hits it, though... amazing.

He certainly looks to be the best of the players from last years draft. Although one year in, sure doesn't say much. Glad we got that center we have needed for years!

Calibrated haha awesome way to put it

I think this happened in junior as well. He was getting used to the game, found his rhythm and exploded. That seems to be happening here, more games played but less minutes. One thing that stood out last night was when I seen him do a little dangle in the neutral zone with his back to the benches that kept possession while setting up the next line for a rush. Pro move.

Yeah I seen that too........sure wish I had a vid of that to watch again.......his hands moved with lightning speed in that sequence,,,,,,,,probably even to fast for slow motion replay........:)

The way he stickhandles is amazing, it screams ''elite''. Once he gains more confidence and decent icetime he's going to dangle his way trough the offensive zone all night long. :naughty:

I think he'll be a true impact player as soon as next season.

I can't wait for him to be as dominant as Tavares, Duchene and Malkin on the ice.
I really think he has the ability to play like them.

He's being groomed and protected just like Datsyuk was. Even if Datsyuk was older.

The flashes he shows are at a whole other level than other Montreal forward prospects in the past years. The vision and skill set are special.

Disagree.

Subban and Price have shown the same kind of Flashes.

He has been really good in the last couple of games after a rougher stretch, he is looking more comfortable and no scared to use his wrist shot. Now he needs to start hitting the net, 2-3 chances last night but missed wide. With his shot being that solid, goalies will have a hard time controlling the rebound, he needs to stop picking corners for now and just make the simple thing which is putting it on net

A franchise player at every position. Price, Subban, and now Alex. Surround these guys well and we can compete for years.

It really is incredible how well he's done despite his age and lack of a filled out bodyframe. His hands and vision are what impress me most right now. He's not only making some nice dekes but he's using his skill to hold onto the puck and buy time for plays to develop. When he grows into a man, he'll be able to control the pace of a game easily, and add that to Subban who can do the same. All signs suggest he should become the best forward we've had in quite some time. Last year was sooooo worth it.

I hope we don't have to worry about SIZE much more if Eller and Galchenyuk pan out. Galchenyuk is already tall and he might have another inch or two to grow before it's all done with, and he certainly has muscle to put on. Dude is going to be scary in the future...
