Pettersson is also 'there' for his defense. He's a great two way center.

And DeBrincat is great two-way winger, your point?

Pettersson has so much potential. We have not seen the best of him yet.

Same goes for DeBrincat, they are less than year apart, in age, development.
Brinksy is still learning, developing.

Brinksy led the Hawks in hits 3 seasons in a row
top 4 in blocked shots as well, not to mention take aways.

DeBrincat is a two way center in heart, who is first pass guy,
who just happens to play wing position and score goals like the best of them.

He bases his game after Pavel Datsyuk, his childhood hero/favorite player.

I still have high hopes for Pettersson and assume he will pan out as what was expected.

What? You somehow say a sniper is "pass-first guy" and 2-way C, even he plays wing? Comparing to Datsyuk just wins this for me...

"DeBrincat is a small player with a dynamic skill set and a pure sniper. He is undersized, but can be very nasty to play against and shies away from no one. He skates well and is very effective around the net. He is hard to contain for such a small player, and has great chemistry with anyone he plays with. A decade player in the OHL. (Tyler Parchem, EP 2016)"

It will be fun to seet what Debricat really is away from Kanes shadow.

I don't buy the whole Petterson being a great defensive center when Horvat was taking most of the heavy load last season.

Pettersson is better defensively than Horvat and most Nucks fans know it.

If Pettersson and Kuzmenko look in the regular as they looked in the preseason games I think nobody will ask the question again.
DeBrincat and Giroux have clicked as well, basically putting up the exact same numbers as those 2 in preseason.

DeBrincat has topped 40 goals and 75pts twice so far. He’s ahead in the “actual results” column for now.

That said, I think Pettersson may have the higher ceiling. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he scored a couple of 100pt seasons in his career where the Cat may have a 90-95pt ceiling just with higher goal totals. They are both incredible young talents though and among my favorite players in the league to watch.

As for DeBrincat performing away from Kane: people doubted Panarin too when he left Chicago. Not worried about Cat one bit. If anything he’ll be playing in a more loaded top six than he had with the Blackhawks.

For Ottawa its Debrincat ,as we have some good young centers already...But this one could go either way and no one would be wrong

Second half of last season EP was on a 50 goal 100 point pace. Based on this preseason there's every indication he's going to continue where he left off.
We’re entering the first half of the season. I judge him by his first half of the season last year. Not by preseason.
