Post-Game Talk: [AHL Playoffs Round 3 Game 1] Abby def. Colorado | 2-0 (Mueller, Mancini) | Shutout, shutout, shutout!

Arturs Silovs is playing himself into becoming a trade chip. Especially with a shortage of good goalies that are hitting the age to play in the NHL.
Or, if he can ever prove himself out in these playoffs, might make either Demko or Lankinen possible trade bait for the center the Canucks desparately need. (likely trade restrictions here however) Waivers might become an issue with Silvos next year.

I wouldn’t trade Demko who’s a franchise goalie or Lankinen who gives a team a chance to win regardless of their compete level on any given night. You need a strong tandem in today’s NHL.

I think Silovs is more valuable as a trade chip because he’s cheaper, younger, and high potential if he keeps this play up. He would be a good piece that could push the edge over for a GM trading their centre.

That rocked! Awesome vibes from beginning to end. Bit of a sloppy game from both offenses but the defences did a very good job of funneling guys into safe areas.

Guy sitting behind me was at his first game. Told me he'd been to lots of Vancouver games but never Abbotsford. Bought tickets for Sundays game after the 2nd. Dude was instantly hooked. Having our farm team out in the valley is so awesome.

Helps so much that the tickets are affordable and, even when traffic is bad, you’re still home 1000x faster than coming back from Vancouver.

I really do hope Manny sticks around for next season. He and his coaching staff really do get a lot out of a little. None of these prospects were supposed to be "top-end prospects" but they end up spending a year under Manny and the coaching staff and they all turn into players.

It would be one thing if it were just one prospect, but to have pretty much all of them increase their stature despite them not ranking as high is a testament of him and his coaching staff. I don't think he is ready yet to be an NHL head coach and that's why I wanted Woodcroft but at the end of next year I can see him getting a NHL job. Especially with a young rebuilding team.

I really hope that Foote succeeds but I am wondering if Manny would have just been the better option.

That was good gamble by mancini.. great looking play

This is cool
If things don't work out for Mancini on the blueline, I'm wondering if they could ever turn him into a winger?

A guy who's listed at 6'3" and 229, and skates like he does, would be devastating on the forecheck. If all he did was go up and down the wing and hit people, he'd be a load to handle out there.

Pretty sure it is bad. Similar ice issues last series against Coachella.
That's interesting. Maybe the players were struggling with bad ice. There's nothing that slows the game down more than poor ice conditions. The puck is constantly bouncing and nobody can get a handle on it.

The only guy who didn't seem really bothered by it was Sasson, who could probably skate a frozen pond with gravel on top of it and still have blazing speed. And Mancini was pretty fast as well.

If the ice is bad, I hope the teams complain about it. The building isn't that old--surely they can make a better sheet of ice for playoff hockey.
