It has been stated that Binghamton already has an AHL team lined up. There are only 3 teams that would fit. The Devils, Rangers and the expansion team for Vegas.

Probably be demoted to ECHL.

But I was hoping the Sens would relocate the B-Sens to St. John's.

Everything that has come out from the media says that they already have another AHL team lined up, and Ottawa helped them land it. Most likely the Rangers or Devils.

I don't know about the Devils, its always been a strange marriage between the Devils organization and the arena up in Albany. Not to mention the Devils and Albany just last spring signed a new deal for three more seasons. Word had it that Hartford was more then happy just being home to UConn of Hockey East and the Rangers wanted to head to Albany before last season but the AHL couldn't make it happen because the Devils organization under previous management did all they can to stop the Rangers from placing their AHL team in Albany. I would have to guess the Devils are staying put in Albany, and the Rangers maybe calling Binghamton home again. The Binghamton Devils just doesn't sound good at all lol, the Binghamton Rangers will have a built in fan connection. It's funny because just a few years ago the Binghamton Mets were all but headed to Albany. With Albany's $20 million dollar facelift underway of the Albany arena if the Devils head to Binghamton the Rangers landing in Albany for the fall of 2017 for the completion of Albany's arena upgrade might be interesting. $20 million arena facelift, and brand new attached convention center seems like things are happening in that upstate city, most of upstate New York is pretty stagnant in terms of growth. I can see a day when Buffalo won't be able to sustain its two major league teams, with the corrupt NYS government having wasted all that taxpayer money in Buffalo for alleged kickbacks I don't see much government support in the future. Even in Albany the mastermind of the Nano Science college is under arrest but atleast Albany is finding other ways to get it done.

There is one fact that makes it obvious it's the Wolf Pack moving to Binghamton:

Because of a scheduling conflict in the 2014-15 AHL playoffs the Wolf Pack had to play their first two games against Hartford at the DCU Center in Worcester. If they had played game six at the DCU in Worcester the cost of three games there was still less than one game at the XL Center.

They are 100% headed to Bingo.

Just wondering how the Wolfpack managed to play themselves in the playoffs.....

Isn't Hartford already under MSG operation, why would they move further away if the current MO is to be as close to the parent club, Hartford is roughly 70 miles from MSG.

That is why MSG left town and Hartford became an open market when the Whalers relocated to Carolina.

MSG isn't involved with the XL Center anymore. Global Spectrum took over management of the building in 2013.

I know when the Wolves and Blues signed their affiliation renewal this summer the press release stated that it is only for 2016-17 because the Wolves want to look elsewhere after this season. (I believe Las Vegas could be their new affiliate) so a Blues affiliate could be an outside option. And as a Blues fan the Blues would be the organization to go against the trend of moving AHL guys closer.

not the arena, MSG owns the Wolf*Pack because it wouldn't be listed under its umbrella as is Rentschler Field.

MSG owns the franchise, but Global Spectrum controls the business operations. MSG's role is limited to the on ice product (players, coaches, trainers).

Spoke with GM of Times Union Center in Albany. Says TUC and @NJDevils have great relationship. Not a likely candidate to replace #BSens

Probably for the best. With so many Rangers fans in Binghamton, the Devils would be about the worst affiliation for us to have here from a "root for the home team" perspective. Lots of us still holding out hope that we'll bring back the Rangers AHL team in 2017-18.

So the Blues are going to buy an AHL team after twice selling an AHL team they owned because both times they said they had no interest in owning an AHL team, and then move that AHL team to Binghamton?

Sounds like a perfect plan to me....

If Las Vegas goes to Chicago as the other part of this, Binghamton's private ownership group could be awarded an expansion franchise.

As a Blues fan it sounds like something they would do. I still think it was a mistake to sell the Rivermen instead of trying to first find a more profitable location.
