Adam Fox wins Norris

Congrats Fox well deserved on that season he just had. Now sign a contract under 9M$ please Mr. Norris :sarcasm:

Good choice. I slightly preferred Makar but it was well within the bounds of argument. I'm mostly just glad that Hedman didn't get top 2.

Anywhere we can see the vote breakdown?

Wow. League really is blessed with an incredible new crop of young defensemen right now. Seems like we had the next gen of C's coming in around 3-5 years ago, whereas right now we're seeing the next gen of D make their mark.

You realize most of the players voting have played against Fox once or twice ever, and Headman 20+ times. They are not sitting at home watching other divisions games. They have no idea how each player played this year.

The players voted this year are meaningless. Analytics wise Headman was bad this year. Most lightning fans will tell you he was bad the second half of the year when he was injured. But the players voted him first. Please find any real data to back up why Headman was the best d this year not a vote by players that did not watch the games or play against the players

Hedman's decline directly coincided with injury, he was comfortably the favorite before he got hurt. The players voted sensibly. Fox is fantastic, I won't begrudge him winning the Norris. Let's not focus too much on Hedman here because that's not the issue.

The people "sitting at home" watching other divisions also had Quinn Hughes as one of the premier players in the league coming into the season. People who aren't directly involved in the game tend to be far more out of touch than the ones who actually experience it first hand (players/coaches/management etc), even if it pains the posters if HFBoards.

There's being good relative to expectations, and flat out being good. Forget about the top 3 for a moment, because that's not the problem. You have Josi (recent Norris winner) and Pietrangelo (doesn't even appear on the list) behind the likes of Devon Toews and Mac Weegar. There is no sane human being who would call the latter two better than the former, yet you can find the odd number that seems more impressive in their favor. It's "who impressed me most" more so than "who is the best".

@Riley 88 where you at?

In order to be a Number one Defensemen in the NHL...Unless your name is Lidstrom. In order to be a number one Dman.....You must hit people.....Steens, Chelios, Bourque, Robinson, Potivin, ......Please show me some tape of Adma Fox's hits this season....Here is an example of what needs to be seen. This is what number ones do.....You cant escape it.. Being a number 3 Dman....possibly a two,...is what your Boyfan is.....accept it......

The Raggies would trade Adam Fox for Charlie McAvoy faster then you can say learn the game ten times really fast.....

Complete joke, First time Ive ever seen a right winger win the Norris. But why bother watching him play when you can simply look at the box score and add up points. The box score doesn't show Buchnevich and Strome playing his position 3/4 of the time because hes caught up the ice.
