It varies by player. A lot of rookies like Carlsson that are still growing will play better with more rest. He's being handled well. With Fantilli I don't think it matters, he could actually handle a little bit more minutes.
FWIW I agree with folks that Fantilli could be scoring more if he was on a good line and we didn't have so many problems with Laine and other players not performing. And if our PP was good, etc... etc... But he's playing well and getting better at a variety of things and I don't see any problem with his development. I'm hugely excited for this player.
In the last game in the first period they played great, skating, short passes more than once, creating space, they just needed to score. What happened in the second and especially in the third period not only with them and the team... it seemed that the skating got worse, which made us struggle. I think Laine has problems with self-confidence.
You're right about Adam. He doesn't have issues, he's simply a victim of the play of the entire team. One more important thing. Voronkov's coach was the experienced Zinetula Bilyaledtinov, a master of defense, of playing without the puck. Before that it was Dmitri Kvartalnov, who knew how to use a similar of players, using forechecking, playing without the puck, blocking shooting lanes. That experience, I think, is very important, that's why Dima is better than him right now. But Adam will learn that and, in my opinion. Laine will find his game.
To the coaches. Do you remember Valeri Nichushkin's problems, which were one of the reasons why he went to the KHL for one season? He was lucky in CSKA to have a coach. Igor Nikitin uses a similar playing philosophy to Bill ( Zinetula Bilyaledtinov's nick), which Valeri gane different habits and what has helped him.
