Mete actually performed pretty much the exact same whether or not he was paired with Weber up until we waived him. He was a very solid defenseman, just didn't put up the points.

At first when I googled him, I didn't see he retired, only saw he was listed as a free agent.

Crazy he retired so young. He could have made good money in Europe or even in the AHL.

Yeah not sure where it all went wrong. He got off to a tough start with us when he got waived and then seemingly fell off a cliff from there. Maybe other teams started scouting him a bit more and exploiting his weaknesses and he just couldn't adapt quickly enough.

i think it's just difficult to make it as an underrated defensive tiny D with no offense. It's not really a niche anybody is looking for.
