Jets fan. At first thought 3 to 5 games. Then I saw a still photo of the point of contact and I think, this game was probably enough. Accari has his head down. Some of the blame has to be on him. Heads up kids
I want to see more from the other angle, the 1 shows Dillon was just a lil off the mark, not much maybe 2 inches but those 2 inches=a headshot

If he has been suspended before then I see him getting a game or 2, if not just a fine, it wasn't malicious, he was just off by a cpl inches.

Dillion should get a suspension for the wreckless hit but I’m not convinced there was intent

Dillon came in at a poor angle and definitely could have went through the body if he took a better route.
thats the thing, its such a fine line, 1 degree different approach angle, or 2 inches to the left even though it still would have been head contact he would have gotten body after the head making it clean

Should be at least 2 games IMO
I can see 2 if Dillon has a history, if not I'd be surprised if it isn't just a fine
Plus I am not sure if Dillon had the right angle it would make a difference, either way it was going to be a big head shot, only difference would be if he caught body after or not.

Pens fan. But I’m attempting to be unbiased as possible. I think all pure headshots should at least be looked at to toss a player. So on that part I agree with the call for the ejection. But I also think Dillon wasn’t trying to purposefully go for the head and Acciari really placed himself in a vulnerable position. Ejection is enough and don’t think he should be fined or have any extra time tacked on by player safety.

Umm Acciari's head was up. Dillion came into the boards and his point of contact to his head was a elbow up shoulder.

Not sure what you are not seeing there.

God damn do I feel old right now.

That isn’t even a penalty. You are allowed to stand there and let a guy run into you if he’s stupid enough to do that.

You are not responsible for a guy skating into you with his head down. There is no onus on you to actively jump out of the way if your opponent chooses not to protect himself. It’s not illegal, it’s not even disrespectful. You have a right to your space just like he does. The object of the game is to avoid the spaces that the opponent is already occupying.

If a “hit” like this is worth a 5 + game, the physical side of this sport becomes unplayable. As a defender you cannot know in advance that someone is going to make zero effort to protect himself.

Won't even be a suspension. Accari is looking down. If Dillon had extended the elbow? Sure. But he braced for contact and accari was way low.

Doubt we see a suspension. Maybe a fine? But that isn't egregious as some 2 minute penalties.

Clearly no intent to hunt the head, but if you're going to line up a big hit like that you have to make sure that it's clean. Might get a game or 2.

Looked like Acciari leaned down a little before impact, but still not a good hit regardless. The helmet flying off in the air pretty much proves that.

Interesting how this weird narrative is popping up that Dillon was standing still despite it being obvious he’s skating toward the boards from the center of the ice to cut Acciari off.
It's because Acciari is a pretty vanilla player. I guarantee you if that was any of their team's star players, they'd be crying for murder. Hypocrite af.

Man... all HFBoards posters should notice how Jets and Pens fans are handling this....

Jets fans: can't have that type of hit in the game, 5 minutes is the right call

Pens fans: understand the call, but our player put himself in that position and Dillon wasn't out to get him... 5 minutes is the right call

Everyone agrees no suspension or one game... either outcome would be palatable to both fanbases
