Some solid goaltending by Tolopilo in the third period, especially with his rebound control. The goalies have really stepped up their play in the last month.

Khaira took a crosschecking penalty with two minutes to go. Laval pulled their goalie for 6v4 and after a couple of nice Tolopilo saves, they finally convert the opportunity. Lead down to 4-3 with 1:24 to go.

Ref got sucked in on the call on Khaira but Khaira shouldn't have given the Laval player the chased to do the el floppo.

Wonder what the flap was about at the end of the game??? Laval coach should probably be suspended.

Mueller was thoroughly the first star.

One thing Kudravstev needs to work on is getting to the puck a little quicker to give himself more time and space to make the easier play. If gets open ice he uses it well

Yes, he's agile and his initial movements are quick but his top speed could use some improvement.

Listened on the Mixir stream. I don't know why but it finally feels like the team has their own identity and aren't just the Vancouver Canucks auxiliary. For the first few seasons, it felt like the crowd was mostly Vancouver fans that were going just as a bit of cheaper entertainment but the last couple seasons, it seems that there's people that are fans of the team itself, not just the parent club. I really saw it yesterday with lots of kids in Abbotsford merch. You know you've created your own fanbase when you see little old ladies with a Abbotsford Canucks scarves on.

My daughter won sign of the game. She got a giant Chase Wouters poster board and a puck, which she gave to her brother.

Was one of the most fun times I’ve had at a hockey game.
Did she win for the Woo sign or for the one offering to trade her brother for a puck?

Sport peppers are so expensive to get out here if you can even find them

I f***in love a chicago dog though
I'll take it without the sport peppers, or even without any of the many widely available peppers that probably taste about the same. It's the tomato, pickle, relish and celery salt that really make it for me.

Pretty crazy this team can go on a tear like this despite several of the top players being on the Canuck's roster. It'll be interesting to see how things shake out in the playoffs. Can EP25 be papered down still?

He can not.

While it seems a lot of talent has left Abbotsford, and that is true, there are a lot of veterans on the team. PDG and Blais are dominant. Khaira looked great. Bains is an offensive engine at this level. The defence is a very good mix.

I believe EP25 was not reassigned at the deadline and is therefore not eligible.

But I think Lekkerimaki, Karlsson, Raty, Aman and Mancini all are.

They're getting back 5 forwards that have average almost a point per game at the AHL level. That's a huge addition to the players you mentioned that have fueled this drive. If the goaltending stays strong Abbotsford might be the team to beat this season.

You can see the growth in Mueller's game almost every time out. The game seems to be slowing down for him, and he is driving his own pace out there.

I notice he's gaining the blueline with ease, and confusing defenders with some of his seeing-eye passes. And that shot.....yikes! Where has that come from?

Pretty obvious the kid has worked religiously on his game all season long. And it's that indefatigable work-rate that often separates the prospects who stall, from the ones who will themselves to the NHL.

I'm seeing something of Alex Burrows in this kid Mueller.

Ty Mueller is really turning some heads. Maybe with him and Raty the need to overpay (or pay up) for Pius Suter isn't all that necessary.

Yep, Mueller has a real chance to stick for awhile in the NHL as a fourth-liner. Just had a SH breakaway chance for a hat trick but was stopped. Shortly after, Laval scored just as the Abby penalty expired. 4-2 with 12 minutes remaining in the third period.
Was I ever wrong about Mueller wow. I thought at most he would be a low event AHLer at best and he seemingly has a solid chance at a NHL career.
