Abbotsford Canucks Talk | 2025 Stretch Run

I hope they insert Mueller directly into lineup......one of the few positive storylines in another dismal game in 'garbage time'.

Not sure what to make of Tolopilo's recall. Could mean either Demko or Lankinen are being shut down for the remaining three games.

I really hope it isn't Demko.....he needs more work before the long off-season kicks in. But if he's 'tweaked something again'.....who knows?

0-0 after the 1st period in the rematch with Calgary, but things were happening. Ty Glover laid a big hit on Parker Bell who wasn't happy about it and challenged Glover to a fight. So, our man Glover accommodated him and laid out Bell with a right to the jaw; don't think we'll see Bell back tonight.

Nielsen put the puck in the net on the PP but it was called back, and rightfully so, as Nate Smith had interfered with the goalie.

Wolanin lost an edge and fell into the end boards while retrieving the puck, and it didn't look good. Hurt his arm or shoulder, left the ice immediately even though the play was carrying on in his zone.

Calgary scored from right in front of Silovs for a 1-0 lead and late in the period Abby had only two shots on goal in the frame. But on the heels of a good hard-working shift by the fourth line, Wouters with some physical play separated a Wrangler from the puck, then headed to the net where a shot by Woo bounced off of the goalie, appeared to be going into the net but Wouters finished the job just before it rolled across the line.

However, after Wolanin took a hooking penalty (and a 10-minute misconduct), Hunter Brzustewicz fired a wrist shot from the point to give Calgary a 2-1 lead in the final minute of the period. Wranglers took a penalty right at the end so Abbotsford will have a two-minute PP opportunity to start the third period.

Calgary added an insurance goal with seven minutes to go, Abbotsford loses 3-1. They were outplayed, plain and simple.

Aside from his shootout tally last night, it was a very quiet weekend from Lekkerimaki.
Thanks for the game notes B&G. Really appreciate being able to read a little of the game from your perspective.

I find myself detesting the Calgary AHL club. After so many concussions given by their goon squad and the fact they keep winning games and in the past, having knocked the Junior Canucks out of the playoffs. The BC teams always seem to get the dirty end of the stick from the league as well, although I'll admit I'm too biased to say if that's an accurate assessment.
