Klimovich working his way into being an actual trade asset.
He reminds me in some ways of MacEwen when he was 21/22. Some differences, too, but that's the closest comparison from recent years. Raw, some head-scratching decisions at times, but also some ability and size.

Bakersfield had been coming on in recent minutes and it finally paid off as ex-Abby guy Alex Kannok-Leipert just threw an easy shot toward the net from the blue line, maybe a bit of a screen but it seemed as though Young should've been able to track it. He whiffed with the glove and now it's 2-1. Five minutes to go in the second period.

McWard threw a shot from the blue line, Klimovich appeared to re-direct it, puck went under the crossbar for a 3-1 lead. Right now they're showing it as McWard's goal but pretty sure that it will be changed to Klimovich.

Twarynski got a breakaway in the final minute of the period but hit iron for the second time today. 3-1 after two periods.

Aman forechecking forced a turnover just inside the Bakersfield blue line. Nielsen picked up the loose puck, made a cross-ice pass back to Aman who had a gaping net to shoot at from the right side but strangely he one-touched a pass to Twarynski in the middle of the slot who took the shot; goalie got a piece of it but not enough. 4-1 Abbotsford early in the 3rd period.

Bakersfield cycles the puck along the left-wing boards, then a cross-ice pass connects as Wouters kind of lost track of the guy pinching in from the right point, Young can't get across fast enough and a high shot makes it 4-2, midway through the third.

Just so happy for Klimovich......what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, Looks like he's come through some of the dark times and has emerged as a bonafide prospect once again.

said before that Klimovich should probably start being judged when he plays his 20yr old season like most do in the AHL. Problem was he got injured and never got right last year

New coach new year new opportunity. Still a young guy with some high end tools (mostly shot) nice to see him becoming noteworthy

Kudryavtsev was noticeably good today. All five of his blue line compatriots were solid and his game took a backseat to none of them. I've had the sense that I like him a little more than the organization does. Wasn't a fan of him being scratched three times in five games; we'll see what happens going forward.

I feel like the reports on Kudryatsev have been almost unanimously positive, making him taking turns riding the pine because of the logjam of bodies all the more frustrating.

I thought Kudry was going back to SSMarie so the whole fact he jumped to the AHL with the log jamb we have at LD (AHL) has been a positive for me. Dont mind some time to adjust and train and practice to get up to speed either but it can't be happening most the year

If Kudryavtsev keeps progressing like this throughout the long AHL season, he'll be a legit top-pairing guy in Abbotsford by March.

Pretty exciting for a 20-year old kid who was likely ticketed for another season in the OHL. He looks a little short out there at times; but checking his stats on Hockey DB, he's listed at 5'11" and 205. So he's pretty stocky and doesn't look like he's having too much trouble handling all the heavy hitting from a lot older players.

Looking like a nice 'find' by the Canucks
