Sens got away with tons of clear penalties like this one. No contact and zero attempt to avoid the goalie.

They were taking 3 penalties a shift and complaining they were called for 5% of their infractions.

The Bruins are a better team. This is all the Sens have.

The realization that they’re going to make the playoffs only to lose to the Leafs is breaking them down. They really thought they were as good as all the teams the Leafs lost to.

So much of the chatter is about the calls and the undisciplined nature behind those calls. Whether the calls were debatable or not, whether the Leafs players sold the calls or not...etc. The simple fact of the matter is that the undisciplined nature of the Sens game last night went far beyond the penalty calls that were made.

Its almost as if people forget that the Leafs scored 3 times at 5v5 and had other quality chances to convert as well.

If you look at the opening goal for example: Batherson cleanly loses a 50/50 battle below the Leafs goaline, and instead of getting into a better defensive position, Perron decides to engage in a stupid forecheck. Putting all 3 Sens forwards below the dots, with the Leafs breaking out the other way. Like do people even wonder how OEL got so wide open in the slot??? It starts with undisciplined plays in the offensive zone.

Same goes for the Marner goal that followed. Jenson doesn't get his puck deep, and instead of keeping eyes on arguably the best player on the ice, he gets puck watching.

goal 5. Sens clearly the better team to start the 3rd. Get one to bring the deficit back to 2. Klevin loses a 1 on 1 battle with Robertson that he should have won with ease. The rest is history.

Sens fans can be upset all they want about the calls. I can understand to some degree. As my previous posts in this thread have shown. But don't for a second think the undisciplined nature of the Sens game last night was exclusively based on bad calls. The Sens made more critical mistakes than the Leafs. That is how games are won and lost in April-June.

I know this all too well as a Leafs fan lol
