I've never felt so convinced that this team will win a championship in the next 2-3 seasons. It's been incredible to watch their poised and patient game round into form since Knoblauch took over.

I was ripping JJ/Bowman/pro scouting plenty early in the year but over time Emberson and Podz have proven to be great additions, exactly the type of additions that will prolong the contention window if Bowman can keep finding players like this.

I feel like that's just the story of Bouchard's career. He consistently puts up great results and controls possession, but the mistakes he makes look really bad
HFOil used to say that about Draisaitl too, the GDT comments about Drai before this season, in which he's taken his game to a whole new level, were littered with the same exact comments we see about Bouchard now.
They might seem lazy at times with their approach and make some notable mistakes at times because they have the puck so much but the good FAR outweighs the bad.

The guy scores hits and fights and you want to get rid of him? What more does a player need to do?
You have year 1 player in your head. Last year, when he did play (turns out he was injured) had a great first month and struggled the rest of the way. Your expectations need to be adjusted to reality

LMAOOOOOOOOOO, what a f***ing soft loser this guy is. Oh, he's a canucks reporter. No wonder. He's used to seeing soft players like Pettersson. What a f***ing goof!

Like, what an amazing chud. He writes for the Hockey News for the Nucks, the Hockey News has become very pathetic. That's a fan with a blog complaining about nonsense.

Why would you want to separate them?

When they are together they absolutely roll the other team almost every shift.

McD was also kinda slumping without Drai.

We are also getting secondary scoring now.

Knobby is doing a good job right now of putting them together and splitting them up periodically

The best team in the NHL for months. Don't change a thing
I will agree with you on the fact these players should play together more often. We seem to be much more effective this way.

This is a good team boys. I think there are a lot of yow who don't realize how good.

It still pisses me off that Skinner needs to play poor before he decides to get his head in the game. its becoming a "thing". He's lucky he plays for a team like the Oilers.

We absolutely have to step on Vegas' throat, must continue to play well. We're always a better 2nd half team whereas Vegas isn't. Winning the division is a must. The conference and the league would be ok too I guess lol
I’d be interesting to see his stats in the first versus second and third periods? Seems when he shits the bed it’s early in games? Maybe it’s just a mirage.

Of course it’s a nucks idiot. What an horrific fan base even the reporters who cover theM

I don't know if its Nuck fan's eyes that are the problem, or if it's their brains, or both. There was no head contact.

I hate, HATE more than a few teams in the league, but I'm not going to just make something up when the video shows that what is alleged simply didn't happen. Imagine being so obsessed, so demented, and so fixated on the team you hate that you have to literally deny reality in order to fill your boots with more ammo to hate them with.

Main boards? Hell, a bunch of our own posters were saying that on here at the beginning of the year lol "Slow, oldest team in the league...etc".

This team is a WAGON
I was one of the people saying that and in fairness I spend a dozen yrs watching the fastest team on the planet, the 80's Oilers. That team would fly. The current team look fast because their positional play is light years better than anything we've seen here since the pronger year.

This combined with speed being a relative concept. The AV's are essentially a one line team. Last night they tried to split it up but that team did look slow,

The Oilers stocked up with skill on sticks vets for the now window. Every thing mortgaged on the now. So that we have a team that can throw pucks around with authority and keep opponents running. Its what we do. The bednard breakdown was pretty good. He was saying more about what the Oilers do than our own coaching staff.

Thing is though this is midseason. I'd hope the team isn't peaking too early. A great ride we're on but the seasons are so long and such a slog. NHL is always an endurance contest and not a race.

It was odd that his own fanbase was talking about MVP Drai in this way all too often.

Yeah. Players like Drai and Booch are not problems. The good far outweighs the specific plays people like to complain about. In the case of both too they make some mistakes because they have the puck and are go to players on a team. An errors stat never works in hockey. The best players make the most errors because they have the puck. Basically notable mistakes in these kind of players just means they are players anybody would want to have. They're key players on a club.

Anybody complaining about how any Oilers throw the puck away should watch Colorado game, 60mins, again. That club is a joke in their own end. Even with guys like Makar back there.

He’s only had 1 good year. Everyone seems to think he will be that same player that he was in year 1- that player is never coming back.
Huh?
He had a 32 goal 56 point pace his second season despite returning from a horrific tendon slashing, and even at his worst playing injured most of the season he still put up 24 goals in 77 games. When you factor in he's by far our most physical forward and a punishing hitter that can have a massive impact in the playoffs, then I don't need him to be what he was his first season here. He was an 8-9 million dollar level player his first year here.

This 100x over. I've always hated the criticism that a small portion of this fan base on here has had for Draisaitl, and it's become the same for Bouchard. It's as if they actually believe there's something better out there that we could just magically acquire to fill their role. You're not getting a Bouchard level dman that is that young unless you draft them or fall into some miracle situation where the player demands a trade and wants to go to your team.

Word to the wise if You've got a PPG D don't ever mess with it or get rid of it. They don't come knocking often. haha. Booch being the first one we had since Coffey or Pronger.

Even last night Booch getting ridiculed on the Mackinnon move? C'mon, thats a one on one nightmare for a D with Mackinnon flying in on you and currently Mack, I'll give him credit, is as dangerous as anybody in the world.

People have no idea I guess how the difficulty level in that kind of moment is off the charts. I thought Booch even did well enough only allowing a little window there but Mack didn't need much. Still got his final touch on the puck like only a few players in the world can.

You just got your doors blown off by Nate Mackinnon. It ain't no disgrace.

Pretty much. McDavid has embarrassed pretty much every single elite D in the league as bad if not worse than that, and some of them many many times.
