Lady Sunny looks for thriller movies like a cop dog sniffing for drugs.

I wouldn't be warning generations if I didn't call out "The Substance" as one of the worst executed movies I have ever seen. The concept is legitimately fantastic and it ends there. It's otherwise up close needle jabbing until it reaches the one of the most nonsensical and ridiculous endings possible. Porn has less nudity than this.

I think they just said "I think men will like this" and just did it.

Skip it. For the love of God. SKIP IT

There's a certain type of art-first movies ("films") that get a lot of initial media buzz from critics, but sort of fall off once they're available for the masses. Poor Things was one of those movies for me. I can appreciate the art of the whole thing, but it's not a pleasant movie.

Then there's Robert Eggers, who is his own sub-genre.

USA Hockey is about to make a big addition.

edit: not what I thought.

Canada is taking the WJC loss HARD.

I found out today that I've misread the last name of my coworker for about 8 months. I wonder how many people I've pointed to his direction with this imaginary name.

Maybe we can get an expansion team in Greenland after he buys it and renames it Red White and Blue Land.
Greenland did cross my mind when I was posting about how the NBA can go to Mexico or Brazil because of time zones. Greenland is maybe the only situation like that for the NHL, but it only has like 60k people.

Nintendo completely bungled the Wii U announcement, so going with the more straightforward Switch 2 should work.

I remember the Wii U announcement. I feel the video is giving video gamers too much credit. It took several days to even nail down if the Wii U was an add-on/enhancement for the Wii, or if it was a new console.

Outside of Nintendo exclusivity, I kind of see the console war as being over. PC won. Major releases cost way too much to make, and take too long to develop, for them to not put those games on as many platforms as they can. It's like most AAA releases are an existential crisis for the entire company, because they have everything riding on it being a forever game that will make millions for the next decade. There hasn't been a new GTA since 2013, or a new Elder Scrolls since 2011. No pressure. Imagine if GTA IV was the only game for over a decade. Society would probably be worse off for it.

With Steam, there's a steady platform for often greatly discounted PC games. If you want to play with a controller, you can. If you want to play remotely, with a form factor like the Switch, you can with Steam Deck and similar devices.

One day, EA will wise up and return Chel to PCs.
