Couldn’t watch the game, but glad the boys came thru with a big game. Only downer is I was up in fantasy heading into this game and f’in useless Zibanejad ends up with negative points, now I have to scramble to make a change for tomorrows games to try and salvage the week. That guy has been horrible all year. Good time for a break to heal some wounds.

Janmark... Brown... Henrique all contributing 5 pts between them. It's a must to get that secondary offense going and they helped with that tonight. Even Stecher getting an assist helps in that department.

Good to see Podz FINALLY cash one as well... getting his stick out of the mud would be massive if he could actually turn into something of a goal scoring contributor... even a 10 goal season would be helpful.

Good to see Kapanen get on the scoresheet early as well in his stint here on the Oilers... I feel the longer the players go without getting on the sheet... the more the pressure builds and obviously it affects the entire team when multiple players are in offensive slumps and gripping their sticks harder than usual.

So much of the game is psychological and I really feel that when a team is collectively not able to finish... that feeds on itself and it just gets worse and worse as players either try to force plays or make passes that they shouldn't because they don't trust their own finish and team-wide the team's ability to score at a "normal" rate diminishes even further.

Hopefully this type of game unlocks some of that finishing ability on a team-wide basis and we see more games like this rather than the games we saw vs Minny and Montreal (among others).

Islands in the stream.
Not minding the look of Kapanen out there. Whats his contract price? Figure this is a better add than someone like Arvid. With a player like Kapanen you get some skill on puck and cycle ability and playing hard and without the smurf effect that small players add up to. All other things being equal pick the physically stronger player. I always would. Kapanen looking good up here so far.

Team looked really fast today, so for people who like to harp on that forever, they can play that way too it looks to me.

Don't mind Kapanen, I mean I'm not expecting the moon here, but yeah his speed is noticeable.

Happy to see Podkolzin get his first.

McDavid has 8 goals in his last 8 games. Shooter mentality coming back a bit?

Caggiula seems like such a pest, I don't mind him, liked him in his first stint here too.
If Cagguila continues to play that gritty pest role he’s been playing then they need to keep him here. That’s exactly what this team needs and outside of Perry nobody else seems capable of playing it.
