A SERIOUS DEBATE: Acquiring Sekera, what will it take?

Stoll has to go back as part of any trade. There is ZERO chance we can re-sign him, and the deadline is when we need to move Stoll.

2nd + Andreoff + Stoll. Keep Weal if we can.

Shift Lewis back to 3C (or call up Weal)

That's not going to cut it.

The price will be high (1st + good prospect) and some team desperate enough leading up to the deadline will pay it. I am hoping it's not us.

The most I would go on Sekera is a 2nd this year + 3rd next year and a mid level prospect and that probably wouldn't get it done at the end of the day.

is Jesus the answer?

So you'd move Stoll for the playoffs and call up a kid with zero NHL experience to take his place?

Why would Carolina do that?

The kings can't resign Stoll, Williams, and Regehr. They need to hold on to their draft picks because they don't have any money to sign any ufa,s. Plus they aren't able to get rid of Richards contract. The only way they can add players is through the draft or the minor leagues right now because of the salary cap.

Given that DL protected the 1st this year, and Mckeown is at least 3-4 years away from the NHL, it definitely isn't too bad for either side, obviously especially not bad for Carolina who had no hope of retaining him. Good deal.

I agree. This trade helped both sides. I am happy and I am sure you guys will be happy as you march into the post season.

Well, i was definitely WAY off.

I do like the deal. The hope is obviously Gaborik telling his countryman to re-sign here and enjoy the beach in the offseason.

Might mean that Regehr doesnt come back though (I can live with that)

Voynov gets a guilty verdict/plea, release him and re-sign Sekera with Voynov's cap space. Voynov not guilty, let Sekera go to FA.

Either way, I still blame stupid Vonyov for the loss of the assets, but totally understand why DL did it.
