Montreal are obviously looking to rebuild so not looking necessarily for a 1A goaltender or even a 1B goaltender.

Price and Allen out, Motembault hurts, Primeau can't make a save to save his life and should be sent down to the AHL.

The perfect candidate is over 25 years old, reasonable cap hit, and can average around 0.900SV%. Just looking for somebody to put on goaltender equipment for the Habs that can make some basic save, and his old enough not to need to be sheltered.

What do teams have to offer and what would be the asking price?

why? you guys have zero chance at the playoffs why worsen your shot at 1st overall
To shelter Cayden Primeau. He is getting absolutely destroyed nights in and nights out, can't be good for his development he needs to be sent back to the AHL.

Just a barely average goaltender would be enough to do the job and take his spot on the team.

We can just claim the next guy off waivers.. Dell is a POS but we probably should've grabbed him off waivers just to help Primeau.

Certainly no need to waste a decent pick on a guy for just this year though. At worst we can just let McNiven or someone in Laval get shelled instead of Primeau if he can't take it.

Capfriendly says you have $6.7M in space and that's with a bazillion guys on the IR counting against it too.
Fair enough, didn’t know that. They had no cap space not long ago.

What contract would you be ready to take for Koskinen+4th. An AHLer I guess?

We didn’t tho probably because the Habs are at 48 contracts.

Something needs to happen Hughes can’t let this going on. This is a sabotage of a goaltender who may have starter potential if handled well.

Korpisalo for a 3rd then the Jackets can call up Tarasov.

A NHL goaltender to Montreal.
I think I read somewhere that the Oil was offering two high picks for Korpisilo. He’s about the same level goalie as Koskinen.

bTW, that’s a horrible trade for the Oil if that’s what they pay for the crappy backup G in Columbus.

For what the tank is going great. Wait until after the Bedard draft before even thinking of improving the NHL team. Montreal could very well build a Dynasty with Wright and Bedard.

It'll be tough to suck for another season but worth it imo.

.900 goaltending won't break the tank. It's just to give a break to our young goalies.

Unless they are good with sacrificing a lamb.

I heard they that they punted on a 2nd and 3rd for Korpisalo and my jaw hit the floor.

How do you come back with smith and kosk after last year knowing that it is there biggest glaring weakness. And that is giving the d way more credit than they deserve.

Only 2 contracts left in Mtl. Bergevin's heritage... Habs need one of those to sign Jordan Harris. So, really, only one player left to sign. Unless there's a minor hockey trade, it'll be hard to sign a decent backup goalie. McNiven is not NHL caliber, neither is Poulin or Primeau (at this point). But it needs to be figured out, soon!
