Absolutely but I can also guarantee you my kid is going to love itBlatant money grab
In only its second day of release, its box office is going to blow past what Snow White has taken over two weeks to earn. I imagine Disney thinking to themselves, "Why are people turning out to see that mediocre movie when they didn't to see ours?"Sounds like this sh*t is pretty ass. Will still probably gross $1B
Disney messed up by making a live action movie of one of their older cartoons. Kids today aren't watching Snow White and Cinderella era movies. If they're watching any non CGI movie, it's the Aladdin/Lion King/Beauty and the Beast era that their parents (people in their early 30s and older) watched when they were kids.In only its second day of release, its box office is going to blow past what Snow White has taken over two weeks to earn. ‘A Minecraft Movie’ Takes Over World With $301M Global Opening – International Box Office
A Minecraft Movie has exceeded expectations with a block-busting $301M global box office openingdeadline.com
The movie is purely for kids. Kids love Minecraft a lot. Can't blame any parent for taking their kid(s) to see this. It's not a cinematic masterpiece, but it'll bring plenty of joy to ton's of kids. Why do studios think that just because they're creating a cinematic event based on a popular IP in the form of some other media that that means they can write an absolutely dog shit story with awful, annoying acting, and just load it up with references to the IP so fans of the original product can say "OMG THEY SAID CHICKEN JOCKEY"?
Oh yeah, it's because people flock to the theater regardless and allow a product like this to churn in $1 billion at the box office.
If you contributed to this movie's success because you have kids who wanted to see this and took them, fine, but adults really shouldn't be excusing this slop.
